Average donut shop. Sausage kolaches are pretty good. Donuts are good but always cold. Staff is pretty nice.
This place is right next to my apartment and on the way to work. I've been there three times but this is my first review on it. One of my most favorite features of this place is it opens at 5am. I see a lot
of other oilfield workers coming and going at this hour. They also have a drive-thru which makes it really convenient for getting something on the go. They are also fast.
The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is straight to the point. There's a glass counter with donuts, a sliding glass fridge with drinks, and an open and bright layout. Nothing fancy.
I would say they probably make more revenue off Kolaches than donuts but I don't know for sure. I always get the jalapeño and cheese sausage Kolache and it never disappoints. It's usually hot, the cheese is melty and the dough on the outside is delicious.
Their donuts are pretty good too. Light and fluffy. However, I've yet to receive hot or even warm donuts in the three times I've been there. They heat the Kolaches, why not the donuts? Their namesake? I'm sure it you can ask them and they will heat it up but why not just do that for it already? You know the donuts are cold, at least offer and ask us if we'd want the donuts heated. This isn't just a problem in the late morning. I've been twice in the 5-6:30 AM window and still received cold donuts but hot Kolaches. I usually get one cinnamon donut as well and it's always delicious. Good flavor, but same problem of being cold. If I bring them back to my place and warm them up, they're really amazing; but, sometimes I'm on the road and just have to get them and go. Wish they'd ask to heat the donuts!!!
Overall, this place will satisfy your donut craving. Just don't expect them hot. The jalapeño & cheese sausage kolaches are great and very popular. Average place. Gets the job done though. read more
