This was a really nice place to stay!! The room was pretty large and fit us perfectly. I loved the walk into town, we cut straight through the Village, which is so beautiful! My only real complaint is that there wasn't a microwave in the room, it was in a separate area by the ice machine, but we manged! I can definitely see us saying here again!

    Bug bites

Check your sheets!!!! My boyfriend and I went here after seeing all the clean reviews, the night we got there we failed to check our sheets from the long day we had previously. On our second night, we went in showered and were laying down (again, long day) when all of a sudden I felt a huge itch on my side! My boyfriend checked and I definitely got bit by something (LEFT A BUG BITE MARK) and that's when it hit us it could be bed bugs. Immediately when we looked at the bed, sure enough there was a bug. At this point it was midnight so there was no one at the front desk - I tried calling regardless but there was no answer. We found 2 more after looking through our sheets (3 in total) Because my boyfriend and I could not bear the idea of sleeping another night in a bug infected bed- we desperately looked for another stay within the area and immediately left. Did as anyone should and washed everything twice. When we went back and checked out the following morning, we told the lady at the front about the situation without raising alarm to the other customers and she let us know to call back when a manager was there because she could not process refunds. We were on the way back home that day so we knew we would have to call. When calling, the man who answered immediately told me that the bugs we found were not bed bugs and that no refund would be processed and honestly was speaking to me as if I was the problem. We put the bugs IN A ZIPLOC BAG and they still said we were wrong... Maybe I am wrong , but there are definitely bugs in the bed that bite you!!!!!! ‍‍ I guess the only pro was that the staff (other than the man on the phone) were very nice. Please check your sheets.

    The view we had.

We were greeted by one of the managers when we arrived who made us feel welcome. While there is not daily housekeeping, we had more than enough towels (and coffee pods!) for our three night stay. There was a fire through this area back in 2016. There is no sign of the fire in the remaining lodge building. Off to the side, up a hill, are the foundations of former their lodge buildings and restaurant. The view to the south includes some burned trees in the distance, but I found that it didn't take away from the ambiance. Due to the fire, the does lodge have a more remote feeling due to the lack of telephone, cable, or internet. We didn't miss any of these, and we had reasonable cell phone reception. I look forward to seeing the lodge thrive again and wish the owners the best in their continued renewal.

It's unfortunate what happened with the fires back in 2016 but the business keeps on pushing through. They still have a decent amount of amenities even without the other spaces they had offered before the fires. The rooms are a decent size, especially for two people. They offer a full sized kitchen which was nice so we didn't have to eat out every night. The balcony is cute & have great views of mt leconte. The bed was comfy & everything was clean. They had plush robes in the closet which were super comfy & great to put on after a hot bath in the spa tub in the bathroom. They also maintain hiking trails right by the lodge & they had a nice set up by the creek, there was a bathroom down there & a fire pit and lots of chairs set up. The lodge is only a mile up the road from downtown & the national park entrance so it's in close proximity to alot of great things. The only issue we ran into was not enough parking but we made it work. Overall had a great experience here & would definitely stay here again.

If spotting wildlife is on your Smoky Mountain bucket list, this hotel may save you a trip into the national park. And if that bear gets a little too curious, you're already safely inside. The location is one of the best in Gatlinburg. It's right in the heart of town, yet tucked away on River Road, just far enough from the Parkway to avoid much of the noise and chaos. You can walk to everything and still feel like you've escaped the crowds. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. But what keeps bringing us back is the staff. Hospitality is one of those things that's easy to advertise and harder to deliver. These folks deliver it. Everyone we've encountered has been friendly, welcoming, and genuinely interested in making guests feel at home. We've stayed here three years in a row. And we're already planning year four. In the hotel business, that's about the strongest recommendation I can give.

Pros: * Location - short walking distance to some of the best restaurants ever. * Parking lot is fine - easy to get in/out * Really nice hotel staff * Easy self-checkout for drink/snack purchases in the lobby. You can pay via card or charge to your room. * Very clean lobby restroom Cons * NEW - they now charge a $45 self-parking fee per stay. We found this out when we got our receipt upon checking out * Bathtub/shower drain was so slow, you stood in 3-4 inches of water every shower * Shower curtain was too short so you had to direct the shower head towards the shower wall and away from the middle, otherwise you'd soak the floor * Weird moldy looking stain on comforter * Motion sensor on thermostat, so at night it would become unbearably hot while we slept. Only when we got up did the AC kick back on. They also have a breakfast but I can't understand why anyone would eat hotel breakfast when some of the best breakfast restaurants are within a short walking distance. So no comment on that, because we didn't even bother. I don't know, it just seemed like adding insult to injury when we saw the $45 self-parking fee after the room issues we had. We'll probably look elsewhere for our next Gatlinburg stay.

Their gym is super tiny with very little equipment so we didn't workout the days we were there except to run outside. We went to have a drink in the bar one night after coming back to the hotel. The bartender (Samantha) looked at some guy at the bar when we sat down and said "what time is it?" We felt unwanted and rushed so we paid for Our drinks and immediately left. I decided to stay here because it was right across the street from the Ripley's Aquarium. It was about a 5 min walk to it. Another reason what I love staying here is the beautiful downstairs lobby area which included 2 huge live parrots . There was 2 nice dining areas of restaurants. The rear pool area was huge and definitely a great place to enjoy. Parking can be alittle congested and hard to find at peak hours. Walking distance to the strip and several restaurants were super convenient. The rooms are amazing. We got the Junior suite room with 1 king bed. From the fireplace and big screen tv built into the wall to the beautiful view from the balcony. The sink and microwave/refrigerator area was huge. The bathroom was huge and shower was probably the nicest and highest I have ever seen in my life. You can fit 5 people in the shower together. Not sure why you would. There were 3 different shower heads coming out. The room was super clean and modern. I was here on non peak times where the nightly price is still reasonable. But during peak seasons, the prices are super expensive. The expensive prices will keep the shady crowd away and family friendly. One thing I will say is the wind tunnel noise inside the room in the 3rd floor was amazing loud. I had no idea what it was at first as it sounded like it was haunted. Unsure if you can hear it in other floors. I will say this hotel is worth every dollar. I highly recommend it if your in the Gatlinburg area.

I said OK great I'll take a king bed I asked what the rate was she told me and then I asked her if she needed my name for the booking and she said no, which I thought was very strange. I get to the hotel and it turns out this girl had no idea that I was actually trying to book a room. What?? why would I say all that and ask if you needed my name if I wasn't trying to book a room?? the rate she gave me was also the business rate. She couldn't look up if I was a member. She said she needed my member number to look that up, which makes zero sense because if I knew my member number, then I would know that I was a member already. It was just very weird, but luckily the manager was very kind and although I was upset from the frustrations of the previous girl, she got everything booked. Luckily, they did have a room available because if they didn't have a room available after I waited all morning to check in to a room that was never actually booked for me, I would've very upset. You can order actual meals in the lobby and they have a little store where you can buy drinks and snacks and stuff which is pretty cool. One thing that drove me insane was at around 4am, there was a really loud metal banging sound like a trash truck or a trash compressor or something outside that woke me up. I couldn't believe how loud that noise was at that hour. Parking is $15 dollars. So that sucks. Overall it was a good experience though, mainly because the hotel is clean and beautiful.

Oh, food options were good, literally one of the best breakfast buffets. I've been to at a hotel, however, if you got there at 8:30 or beyond, good luck in the buffet hunger games. I will add the bar staff were exceptional, and the complementary happy hour is a solid win. The challenges are that the service is actually not great for being such a young hotel. Room service was abysmal, I'll touch a picture of a "made bed". They apparently don't automatically clean the room, you have to ask them for a full clean, which is very odd considering most hotels you have to ask them to not clean the room. At the pool, there was a situation where a child threw up, I notified maintenance, who then came back and said nope, the front desk said he couldn't report it, a guest had to report it, therefore the vomit stayed for another 35 minutes, even though we wiped it as best as we could (not our child). Our toilet was broken for the duration of our six nights. Additionally, they were shortstaffed. So you could tell the front desk didn't have rotation, there weren't people walking around, checking to make sure everything was clean and ready. To be fair it could've been the fact that this was the busiest they've been all season, but as a major hotel, it feels like you should be equipped and prepared. I would also add that the trolleys were lacking, and it took us a long time to get one to be able to bring our belongings in. We stayed from September 29, 2026, through October 2, 2026. Our initial impression of the hotel was positive. The building looks impressive, and check-in was quick and easy. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. When we entered our room (Room 1017), we immediately noticed several basic items were missing. There were no cups for the ice bucket, no cups in the bathroom, and no trash bags in any of the trash cans. On the second day, housekeeping never serviced our room. I had to contact the front desk to report the issue and also request coffee because it had not been replenished. We also ate breakfast at the hotel, and it was one of the worst breakfast experiences we've had, especially considering the $22 per person price. For that amount, I would expect freshly prepared eggs rather than the processed carton eggs that were served. On Day 3, housekeeping serviced the room but failed to clean the bathroom. On Day 4, both my wife and I woke up with runny noses. We initially assumed it was our seasonal allergies. By our final day, we were both feeling worse. I decided to inspect the room more closely and discovered that it had clearly not been dusted properly. As shown in my photos, a single swipe across the top of the headboard revealed a thick layer of dust. I then looked further and opened the curtains completely. That's when I noticed mold and rust near the glass door, as well as damage around the carpeted area. The photos speak for themselves. To make matters worse, the hotel charges guests for parking. I've stayed in many hotels over the years, and this is the first one where I've been charged additional parking fees. In my opinion, charging guests for parking while failing to maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards is unacceptable. The issues we experienced suggest poor management and a lack of attention to detail across multiple departments. I can only speak about Room 1017, but if this room had these problems, it raises concerns about the condition of other rooms as well. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend staying at this hotel. My advice is to inspect your room thoroughly on the first day and consider other hotel options before booking. Pros: Attractive hotel with great views Smooth and easy check-in process Cons: Missing room supplies upon arrival Inconsistent housekeeping Bathroom not properly cleaned Dust accumulation in the room Mold and rust concerns Poor breakfast quality for the price Additional parking charges

Don't stay here unless you desire the perfect place for a perfect experience. Pro tip: The elevator is a dividing point between orientation of the rooms. Room numbers which progress higher beginning from the elevator location enjoy sounds/sights of a turbulent river (creek?) flow pattern and a balcony which faces Southwest, while room numbers which progress lower from the elevator location enjoy a more tranquil water flow pattern and a balcony which faces more toward the Northwest. Views of the mountain elevation nearby are seen from balconies facing Northwest, while balconies facing Southwest, well, not so much, but they experience more of a "river sound" in exchange. Meanwhile, a number of comfortable chairs are located ground level near river's edge for just "hanging out" time. I have traveled the world for decades on a rather routine basis, staying in 2 star to 5 star plus properties, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Old Creek Lodge is not super "resort fancy", but it is clean, convenient, tranquil, and most certainly a great bang for your buck.
