We shared the Bandeja La Casa del Mofongo con Tostones, loaded with chicharrón de puerco, chicharrón de pollo, masitas de cerdo, salami, and queso. At $22.99, the portion was incredibly generous and easily large enough to share. The meats were flavorful and well-prepared, with the pork perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. The tostones were fried to perfection! We had to pick it up from a central serving station. We ordered a lot! Chicken wings, rice and plantains. It smelled so good and fragrant. One thing we missed was the toppings bar at the front of the restaurant. Darn! It would have been nice to put some peppers and onions on our wings. However, the food was hot, delicious and satisfying. There was so much! The servers were friendly and accommodating as well as the cashier. The cost was reasonable as well. The place was clean, organized and comfortable. All in all, we would recommend a visit soon, especially to this location!

Besides the food, the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. They really put a lot of thought into designing and decorating the interior. There were charging stations and handbag hooks under the bar tables!! It seems small, but that level of attention to detail is a welcome change. It was ground lamb with onion, mint, and cilantro. I got their grilled shrimp. It also had shredded cabbage, , guacamole, and cilantro. I chose to have the chipotle aioli on the side. I really liked my taco. To share, we went with the birria. This was very tender shredded beef, cheese, onion, and cilantro. It was a bit messy and drippy, but very good. I never even needed to dip it in the side "sauce" that it came with. The side was esquite salad. A pasta salad with corn and other veggies like small pieces of green and red peppers. There was more pasta than anything else. This was just okay. They had a number of Mexican sodas to drinks in various flavors, agua fresca, and horchata. They had a bar there also on the side of the room with "adult" beverages, but it didn't open until the evening. My favorite of the things we had? My shrimp taco. Prices were fairly reasonable. Of course, I had to try the consomme and what a mistake... because now I'm hooked line and sinker. It was so packed with flavor that I even started dipping my Vaca Frita in it. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. The music inside was loud, like uncomfortably so in my opinion. The indoor seating, of which there is very little, is tight and uncomfortable too. The trade off was loud music and a hard seat or outside in the heat - we chose inside for the A/C. Also, it's an order-at-the-counter type system. They will bring your order to the table, but you're clearing the dishes yourself. My guess is that this place works much better for those grabbing food to-go or via delivery.
