We had a tree that was giving us plumbing issues and had to be removed. For months our yard was the eye sore of the neighborhood . We had roots and dirt everywhere. JA landscaping was absolutely amazing! They came out to see our yard, listened to our ideas, and came up with several design options. We were able to plan our yard exactly the way we wanted. JA landscaping was easy to communicate with and even sent me pictures of plants to see what we liked and wanted to add. I got the path I've always wanted, my fiancé got large planter boxes like he wanted, and we both got the minimal maintenance landscaping we wanted, AND they installed all of the irrigation and timers. Not so good they seemed to be in a hurry and there was to be a minimum of 2" of gravel over the landscape cloth and it ranges from 1/2" to 1.1/2".they used wood stakes for the bender board and a lot of them split and I replaced them. read more

I had used them before on an extensive landscaping job with no problems. This time I called them about some broken irrigation lines caused by tree roots and they said "We'll be there on Friday". On Friday I wasted the entire day waiting for them but they never showed up. I tried calling them several times during the day but they never answered my calls. This was 5 days ago and I never heard back from them. This is a very rude way to treat an established customer. I'll never waste my time calling them again. read more

We had an irrigation leak in our in-line valves. I spent 3 days digging out the roots over the valves to see that the whole system needed replaced as it was leaking furiously. We called JA to come out and look. I'm a plumber. I know how irrigation works and how much the supplies cost. I'm just too busy to do it myself, otherwise I would. So I have the knowledge. I know that I would be paying more for their labor than I would be supplies. They came and inspected it and for whatever reason, had very poor attitudes. First they tried to tell me that it was going to be $400. I said no and then they counter offered with 250. Who does that? So we scheduled them to come out the following day at noon to do the work. They never showed. We have been calling and texting all day and have not gotten a response. This is as about as unprofessional as you can get. Do not waste your time with trying to get these people to do any type of work because it looks as if the job will be hard work, they just bail. In summary, they are rude, overpriced flakes who aren't willing to do they work they agreed to do. read more

Everything started great, super responsive and not cheap/not expensive prices. Got the estimate of $4000, which included clearing heavy weed infestation for entire area- roughly 900 sqft- irrigation, soil and sod for ~450 sqft (has curves), 2 15g fruit trees, surrounding mulch and a raised 20' planter. Decided to go with everything but the planter, thinking (but didn't verify, rookie mistake I won't ever make again, thank you for that JA) it would save me -$1k. Told 2 days to install, Th/F. Thursday came, broke ground all is good. Friday? No show no call. That night got a message that Fri is their 'maintenance' day and would be there Sat, but would be OT. I declined and said it will wait till Monday, was told 'Jk!'. Ok, sense of humor, fine. They came Sat, finished the job, looked great and I paid $3700 (remember, didn't do the raised bed and I was surprised at $ but was too hesitant to ask for fear of insulting and I'm a people pleaser, hate confrontation) agreed to hire for bi-weekly maintenance and asked for a quote for the front yard. After getting the next quote, which included a raised planter bed that was shorter than in back, I was surprised that it would be $1200- not doing it for the backyard only took $300 off the quote. When I asked, was informed the original quote was a mistake, OOPS. Thank god I didn't do it, that would've been a painful surprise. And then a tree died in the backyard. Took almost 6 weeks to address and felt I came off as the jerk even though it had only been in ground 2 weeks and I immediately asked for someone to come check it (several times). In the same time frame, they missed a week of service. Was told the crew 'forgot'. Came next day, lawn looked good. Came 2 weeks later and replaced the tree. Then I didn't hear from Juaquin for 5 weeks. Honestly thought he quit after the whole dead tree thing (am I wrong to want a brand new tree that died replaced? Was in-ground for 2 weeks with good watering), suddenly get a text at 6am asking me to leave my gate unlocked, as they couldn't get in-- for some reason, a Masterlock spin padlock was confusing and had to leave unlocked basically all the time, since I never knew when they were coming. I told him I hired someone else since it had been more than 5 weeks and thought he'd quit. Never got a response, apology, my bad, nothing. I tried to be understanding and cut a lot of slack, was glad for them to be so busy, but when the customer is made to feel like a jerk and service is sporadic and becoming rude, I had to move on. Truly wish I could leave a better review, and I have waited a LONG time to see if he would ever reach out, but now I need to let others know- if you're ok with irregular service, random quotes and bad attitude then it shouldn't be a problem to work with them.
