I scheduled what should have been a routine annual well-woman exam, which my insurance covers as preventive care with no copay. In fact, I have walked into this visit every year with my debit card ready to pay a copay, and multiple times I was told by the office that my insurance does not require one for this type of visit. I am always prepared to pay what I owe--but not what I do not owe--and that is part of why this situation was so frustrating. At check-in this time, I was told I owed a prior balance and was asked to pay upfront for the current visit. Based on past experiences where routine discussions during preventive visits were later billed as additional charges, I was already uneasy. After allowing the charge so I could proceed, I reviewed my receipt and noticed a "private pay" line item. When I asked about it, the Shelby responded in a confrontational and unprofessional way, asking why I "even come in" if I'm "just going to argue." Patients should be able to ask questions about their billing without being spoken to like that. I was also asked to complete a depression screening questionnaire. While I understand the importance of mental health screening, I later learned this may not be fully covered by my insurance. Given the office's pattern of billing beyond preventive care, this felt less like routine intake and more like an opportunity to add billable services without clearly informing me ahead of time. What was most concerning is that when I asked to speak with the doctor directly, I was told he would not speak with me. Being denied the opportunity to address concerns with my own provider reflects poorly on the level of patient care and communication. I understand that there are differences between preventive visits and problem-based visits, but transparency matters. Patients deserve to know upfront what may or may not be covered and to be treated with professionalism when they ask questions. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this practice.

She's a good doctor but wouldn't go to her about pregnancy. Her staff saw my blood sugars were…read moresuper high during pregnancy but didn't mention anything, it was my first and I wasn't a diagnosed diabetic I was only hypoglycemic at the time, and she even saw but didn't say anything besides to just watch what I eat. I was 6 weeks and 5 days. Not even a week later, I went in for a blood test to see if maybe I had the pregnancy diabetes, my sugars were in the upper 200s from not even eating anything and I rushed to her office and I found out I lost my baby. The ultrasoundist , the younger one was not very kind about my loss. I went in later that week to make sure that I miscarried and the older ultrasoundist was kind and explained everything to me. She told me that I could still have children and that she was so very sorry for my loss. That was really the only nice staff member she has. The dr herself is very short when it comes to her visit and wasn't very compassionate when telling me about my loss, she just rushed to tell me to think about birth control and she would get her staff to set me up for a d&c.

Definitely the worst doctor's visit I've ever had. I would never step foot back in this place, even if Dr. Daniels was the last OBGYN on the planet. He does not ask you questions about what you are feeling or what's going on with you. He kept over speaking me and saying I knew nothing and he knows all since "he is a scientist and doctor." I asked one simple question and he got angry. I had to ask the nurse in the room if I was being impolite, and she said "no definitely not." Dr. Daniels is very unprofessional, very unfriendly, and very unhelpful. I cried after my visit because during a time of stress with your body, you don't want your physician being rude to you. If I could give Dr. Daniels zero stars, I would. Overall, it was an extremely terrible and strange experience. The nurses comforted me when they noticed me crying afterward, so at least there's that.

They have even worked me in before I have called and spoked with nurse , Kristen or Betty, and both have listened to me and answered the best they could or relayed answers from the doctor. They always call me back. Dr Collins has a laid back manner that makes you feel comfortable. He gives his full attention and answers any questions. The only reason that I did not Give 5 stars is that I have had to call after hours and there isn't a good system for that. The two times I called after hours when I was in late stage of pregnancy, I was referred by the answering service to the doctor on call. Both times, the on call doctors told me I had to go to the hospital and have them paged if it was an emergency. So there was no one to speak with during after hours.
