I have had only terrible experiences with this office. I experienced incompetence,…read moreunprofessionalism, and poor ethics in both the front and back of the office. My 1st appointment (Feb 2018) they scheduled the wrong appointment for my husband and me. Because of their poor communication, I had unexpected extra exam charges and the total time for both appointments was FOUR HOURS, of which more than 2.5 hours was spent just waiting. Also, during my appointment the staff was discussing office politics and spoke poorly of other staff members, which is appallingly unprofessional. At the next appointment (Mar 2018), they scheduled me to see a new dentist. My first appointment was with Dr. Dalby, and the second appointment was with Dr. Chilton. I was in NO PAIN at all before this appointment. Dr. Chilton gave me the shot, and I immediately had a negative reaction- nausea, anxiety, dizziness, heart racing. That did not subside until about an hour or hour and half later. I mentioned the reaction to the assistant and she told me it was normal. Neither the assistant nor Dr. Chilton took me seriously. Dr. Chilton finished all 4 fillings in an hour and 10 minutes. My impression was that she was rushed. Also, during the procedure she did not seem proficient. Several times the water they were using built up and I asked for suction, but they took a while to get it out. I felt like I was drowning. She checked my bite, but I told her that I was still so numb I didn't know if it was really right or not. About an hour after I left the chair I returned to have a few rough edges smoothed out, although only my tongue had feeling returned, so I still didn't know if the bite was correct. There is a long saga that follows, but the short version is that every single one of the fillings Dr. Chilton performed ended up with a much bigger issue. I was in AGONIZING, DEBILATATING PAIN for a MONTH after this appointment and it took three different dentists and an endodontist to find all the issues and finally relieve the pain. One filling she left out the filling material, so my nerve was exposed (see photo). It was highly painful to eat any foods, hot or cold. Another filling was so deep that it caused the death of the nerve and I needed a root canal. That is damage to the tooth that cannot be undone. Dr. Chilton altered the shape of the last two fillings so much that it totally changed my bite. It resulted in jaw muscle spasms that caused headaches so severe that my head literally felt like it was going to explode. I went to the ER because I was concerned that I had some neurological issue. I have given birth to two children without any pain medication. I am not someone who seeks medical intervention when it isn't necessary. This appointment and the work performed was so incompetent that it derailed my life, diet, and budget for a month, with long lasting impact. The total cost of the resulting dentistry and lost work was $6,500. I only work part time, if I worked full time that number would have been much higher! I asked River Dental for the money my insurance company and I paid for the fillings (~$400) to be refunded. I did not seek damages or payments to help with the astronomical costs of the care I needed after their errors. They were only willing to refund money IF I agreed to sign a waiver releasing them of responsibility and agreed not to tell anyone about my experience. This was a giant red flag to me. Either this office takes care of their patients and fixes their mistakes by correcting the work or helping cover those solutions at other offices, or they have to deal with the negative fallout in reviews. One of the reasons I chose this office was because they had five-star reviews online. But it seems that they are buying off the silence of disgruntled patients to get this 5-star rating. This is unethical and wrong. I refused to sign the waiver and forfeited my $400 refund to be able to share this warning with you. Stay FAR away from this office. The staff and dentists are inexperienced, incompetent, and unethical.

So I've been on this dental journey now for over 5 months now. I had a couple of teeth missing and…read morethen my teeth was cracking. So I got a consultation to see how to fix my problem. After finding out what I needed to do I had to really think will this be worth it. So after making my decision on just getting all my teeth pulled which was 24 of them I decided to go through with it. Dr Minikin was the oral surgeon I trusted on getting me on the next phase. Like I said I had 24 teeth extracted and 6 bone grafts. The thing is I was put out and really didn't feel no pain until the next day. I also had 2 implants put in on my lowers to make sure my denture's wouldn't move around. So after 4 months I think I'm about ready for the next stage. But no I had to go back in for another surgery for a muscle that was to strong. Dr Minikin was very straight forward and told me we needed to do this as well which I did. After 3weeks of recovery I went back and was told I was ready to see my dentist to get dentures made. Everyone in this office was the nicest people you could ask for. So if you're needing oral surgery I highly recommend this place. Now I get to see my dentist next week to get my new Smile
