A nice antique store right on the Main Street in Delavan. Lauren's is three floors (they're not…read morehuge floors but there's plenty to see for sure) full of vintage stuff. Many dealer had good sales (20-50% off) on our visit so the Mister grabbed some very cool old beer steins and a US Presidents wastebasket. I don't know why such a thing was made but for $12, who can say no? They have lots of coins, currency, circus ephemera and minerals so if those are of interest definitely check it out. The staff was really friendly too plus a bonus adorable shop dog! A cool place we'll come back to.

But the vast majority of stock is "collectibles" like Xmas village items, Betty Boop, The Office & Wizard if Oz toys etc. It's not my jam, but if you are into: cookie jars, Fiestaware or Xmas village stuff I recommend a visit. They were sincerely trying to help me and looked through all the phones there (a lot ) every time I went in. You know how it is. You tell yourself you're going to back up those PICs and the information on all the people you need to stay in occasional connection with but you just don't realize how much you don't do this until you lose a phone. But the weeks turned into months and I gave up hoping I'd ever recover that phone and then 6 months later this nice fellow from Ford Bros. tracked me down by calling my contacts to return my phone! He gets abandoned phones in lots from places like municipal governments or whatever and before he sells any of them he goes through each of them to make sure they are clean and that is just unbelievable. Mine was in a lot he picked up from some town in Southeast Wisconsin so how it got there from State Fair is a mystery that will probably never be solved. He went through a lot of trouble to return my phone to me and then tried very hard to refuse my reward. Actually I'm not sure that he ever even cashed my cheque. That was Cole but I'm betting his brother is just as ethical. They have a Milwaukee location too, if you need to move antique, collectible goods or liquidate an estate you can bank on the honesty of this operation.
