My dealings with J J Glass deserve a little background information. My flat mate and myself were having a fancy dress new years eve party (I came as David Bowie from Labyrinth incidentally) and all was well. As the early hours dawned I was a little worse for wear and retired to bed. The next day, with hangover in tow, I walked into my living room to find a massive hole in one of the glass panes of the door to the kitchen. Apparently, whilst I was passed out my brother had managed to 'play wrestle' my flat mates shoulder through the window. Needless to say, I wasn't too impressed and tasked my brother with repairing the carnage!
Step in J. J. Glass. One of the fitters came around to measure up and assess the damage and was promptly in and out in 5 minutes. Also, he turned up punctually and in good spirits. About 5 days later the pane had been ordered, toughened and was ready to be fitted. This time a different glazier arrived, yet again when we were told he would. The job took about 30 minutes to complete and aside from a little painting of the beading that had to be removed, there was no damage to the frame or mess made.
The rate was reasonable and I cannot fault the level of service. Their shop also sells a wide range of specialist tables (have a look on the website), but I have not had the need to replace my coffee table yet. I would certainly go have a look at their wares when I decide to. read more
