Moss Lane is named after Heather Moss, rather than Kate Moss. Look her up, thank me later.
The club that plays there has existed since the 1800s so they get a 4, but the stadium isn't great and is freezing (brr) so it gets a 3.
First-Hand Experience: I've been to Moss Lane to see Altrincham play when I lived in Manchester, and it's a really lovely little ground. My friend Alex and I went to every single stadium in the region and this was actually one of my favourites, because of the lovely little crowd, because we were able to stand up at the game, and because, well... I love going to little, real, community-based footy teams in small towns in lower leagues like this. I hope they get back in the big time and will return and see another game here soon. The stadium itself though scores a 3 because it's a pretty average facility.
I've been to most UK & US stadiums, due to lifelong obsessions with travel, sport & especially footy (soccer to Americans). Born & raised in England, I followed Oxford United (hometown team) to stadia all over the country at away games, and later Liverpool (fave team) around. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are from first-hand personal experience, usually from several visits. In 2011, I was on music tour in the UK, and visited most stadiums for fun in my spare time. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to hundreds yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at most, which I'll post later. Also, when back in UK I'll take more pix, and add more stadia!

So the stadium is Moss Lane, which is named after Moss Side, the fanciest, ritziest, richest part of Manchester.
Moss Lane can hold over 6,000 people but only 1,300 or so can be seated. It's a lovely little place and watching non league football has a magic that the Premier League will never again know. read more
