Things like credit were bad, a few fender benders and a DUI, so it was high full coverage for a financed jeep. Things have changed and so I called my old insurence company and for same coverage I could save $210 A MONTH! so I changed. On the 1st I went with a new company. My policy is charged on the 2nd and by the way this agent sells Travelers Auto and I'm sure other home Etc. So I call Travelers and say I want to cancel. They said you have to go to your agent to cancel. Ok. Call him, he says "I need some type of written letter explaining you canceling. It can be written just has to be on paper. So I rush over 1 hour before the close of his daily business. I even went online and switched off auto deduct so they would not charge me. On the 3rd I see I was charged by Travelers. So I go to Lee Hinkle owner, main agent. His son also works there I think and one other. So Lee says yea they (Travelers have it were its already setup to come out 2 days before something) OK, when will I receive my refund? Lee says about 10 business days. So yesterday( June 9th) I called Travelers 1-800 number to see everything's closed and when I should expect my refund? They inform me my policy is still in effect, they received no notice I've canceled, and I need a special form to cancel. I was FURIOUS! So I had to do Lee Hinkle's job. I had Travelers send me the letter. I had to print it out, sign it, and make a bunch of copies of the form and my copy of my written letter so I get my money retroactive from the 2nd of June. I FAXED, MAILED, And EMAILED each of the two letters so there be no question what took place. I said in the email to Travelers that I wouldn't speak badly about them if they resolved this quickly. Today I received an email, its canceled etc. Hopefully now they can start working on sending me my $250 some odd dollars back. So if you are thinking of Travelers Insurence for Home, Auto, or renters. I HIGHLY recommend you find a different agent then this man or office. I said to Travelers I don't know if its gross negligence on his part, or it was done to spite me for canceling insurence? I even was very respectful when I originally gave him the written letter. Said thank you sir have a good day. Well after yesterday mailing, faxing, and emailing, I stopped over at his place walked in put the two papers on his desk, and I could see him out of the corner of my eye, but knew better then to engage him and just walked out. But at that point I already did his job for him so. If you value a good customer service, and a agent you can call, and count on when theres problems or a claim, think SOME WHERE ELSE. OR your in for a big headache. Im not saying don't use Travelers Insurence, just theres way better Agents out there! This guys the worst Ive ever dealt with.
