I still receive compliments from friends and family that remember him. With that said, that was years ago. I took Bam-Bam to Ultimate Dog at 4 months? Maybe slightly older. It was the best decision I made. Jean's style, at the time, was perfect for me and my family. She was clear, direct, and could identify the subtle mistake(s) in my instruction. That was key - to know what you are doing wrong while training your dog so you can correct it. My recommendation is to ask questions and have the mindset that you are seeking to learn how YOU will train your dog and you must put in the time. I recall a dog owner from our class that didn't do the exercises and blamed her Rottie for being disobedient. I don't write a ton of reviews but just had a conversation with a friend and Bam-Bam came up in conversation. Thanks Jean, you made me look good whenever anyone met Bam-Bam.

We found after 4 private sessions with Jean we were the ones who needed the training as well as the dog! Though he's not perfect (yet) he's well on his way! We plan on taking him to her distraction classes as other dogs seem to be his biggest issue. We've done training with other trainers in Monmouth County and Jeans methods hands down have been the best for us and our dog!

I have been meaning to write this for a while now but after our family vacation last week with our…read morelittle "angel" Prissy, I knew I had to make it my priority. I got Prissy from NorthShore in January as a puppy and was told she would be no more than 50 pounds full grown; seven months later she's already 64 pounds and I don't think she's done growing yet, but she's precious and healthy so it's all good. I've always had dogs but like most in my generation, you just had them; we never thought about training. Well, at 52 years old, I knew if I didn't start a good training program with Priss right away, I would regret it. I visited the local franchise pet stores but I didn't feel very confident in their abilities. As soon as I met Helen I knew she was the "one". We began with a Basic class and I immediately saw the possibilities. When Prissy started to actually do what I was telling her to do, it blew me away; what blew me away even more was that I was learning more than she was at a time when I thought my "learnin" days were over (the nest had just become empty and I guess I was feeling it more than I let on). Helen made me look at almost everything in a new way which in turn helped Prissy. She is all about confidence and praise which really, really works. Don't get me wrong, Prissy is most definitely a bull in a china shop but when I tell her to sit or lie down or leave it (just to name a few), she does it (she really does it)! Which brings me to the vacation. We drove to Lake George and stayed at a beautiful rental home for the week before dropping my wonderful son off at college. I was sure I would never see that security deposit again but I was not going to let that hold me back. However, Prissy was so well behaved and listened and didn't jump and walked beautifully on leash and didn't ruin the house... thanks to Helen! Granted I was the one caring for and training and "monitoring" Priss, but without the confidence Helen instilled in me, it would not have been possible. What you need to know most of all is that every bit of the information and training Helen gave me was all done almost without me even knowing it; she's never boastful or condescending or any of the bad things you might associate with learning. I don't know how she does it, but she does it. We often talk about the need for a class for just the owners because we really are the ones being trained; something I didn't believe before I started. I'm sorry this was sooooo long, but I am always blown away when I realize I'm in command of this big, loving, precious, doofy animal and it's always done with love and compassion, again, thanks to Helen's guidance. If you just brought a new angel into your home or if you've had an angel with you for a while, you owe it to yourself to at the very least meet with Helen; I'm sure you will see what I saw. It's never too early or too late to be the pack leader... you just need to learn from the best leader in town. Thank you Helen; for everything. Oh yeah, you will have so much fun with Helen you will not believe you're learning anything at all, BUT YOU ARE!

In fact, after training and giving away money, removing all of those punishment tools and retraining my dog, it has changed everything. My recommendation is to look else where. There's only 36 reviews. I gave this a 1 there too, but the 4.7 doesn't come down. I'm no math major, but if there are less than 50 reviews, the score should at least drop .1. Very sus.

We set up an orientation in Belmar and at that time, Francis and Boogie the pup (Scott's dog) hit it off. After we left Francis with Scott, he put me at ease by sending me his videos and pictures everyday. As a pet parent, naturally I am a bit anxious leaving Francis behind, but the regular photo and video updates from Scott I was able to enjoy my trip worry free. I definitely recommend Scott. Scott is unique in that he only boards one dog at a time, which allows the dog to get a lot more attention than in other boarding settings; as such, his rates tend to be slightly higher at around $65/night (give or take). Francis was definitely a bit sad the day we brought him home due to all the fun he had with his buddy Boogie. We made him a wish list like he asked of everything he would work on while he has the dog. After the 10 days, he brought our pup back and she was super excited to be back home. Scott assured us this is normal and that he would schedule a follow up visit with us and the dog to go over everything he worked on while our dog was with him. We schedule for the following Saturday. Sunday came and Scott once again didn't show up and I didn't get a text until about an hour and half after our scheduled appointment that he couldn't come. At this point we realized that Scott had no intention of coming back and we just wasted $1500. His lack of professionalism and failure to show up, along with the absence of results, left us feeling disappointed and taken advantage of.
