Night 5 in the United Kingdom had me craving fish and chips, as I hadn't eaten the national dish…read moresince the day I arrived. I was visiting the Falkirk Wheel and Kelpies and wanted a good meal close by. Luckily, Yelp pointed me to Benny T's. Only a short distance from the tourist attractions, this restaurant has a takeaway counter and a separate dine-in restaurant. I took a seat at the restaurant and looked over the menu. My order was simple: a "small" fish and chips (as opposed to the large, which is 2 pieces of fish) and a Guinness. The Guinness was out in a couple of minutes, refreshing as always. A short while later, piping-hot fish and chips was sitting in front of me. A dash of salt and malt vinegar and I was ready to dig in. And dig in I did. The fish was fried perfectly: crispy outside with a soft interior. The chips were excellent, crisp outside and an inside that melted in my mouth. It was so good, I almost wish I ordered a large. A lot of places claim to have great fish and chips. But of the chippies I visited in the UK, this was the best. I will definitely return to Benny T's if in the Falkirk area again.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it is a lot more than whatever that was. The restaurant has a huge seating area, split over mezzanine type levels. It's also done in very tasteful retro styling. The chrome and dark pastel colours, the bar area, all of it! Just wonderful. I love it when a place catches me off guard like this! The staff were lovely, and very helpful. We ordered milkshakes and I opted for the classic haddock and chips since that's their speciality, and I was definitely not disappointed. The haddock was light and the batter delicate and crispy, just perfect. The chips were also very well cooked and the side of beans was a nice option, it's usually peas or nothing! They also have a good range of fruit juices and a well stocked bar so drink variety is there. My partner ordered the steak pie as he had been having a craving, but as nice as it was he couldn't help stealing some of my fish, it's a good job they gave me two! They even packaged up the remaining fish for us to take away....for the dog, who was super appreciative! So glad we went here, can't wait to go back!

this is a good chip shop. the food is always hot tasty and fresh. the chips are amazing, especially…read morewith loads of sauce on them. they are more expensive than they used to be, but who isn't. it is still cheaper than the other local one, just down the road. and nicer too. you never seem to have to wait long in here, but its nice and warm in there if you do. there is sometimes a few of the local teenagers hanging around here which can be a bit intimidating, but they dont put me off. it is at the top of the street and people often park stupidly right outside the door, which can cause a problem when the bus is trying to get by, especially when there is more spaces round the back, it's not rocket science.
