It was difficult to narrow down specific times for them to get the work done and they were never proactive about reaching out for updates on the progress of the project. It took over 3 months to actually complete the project, with constant confusion over who was the correct contact person. I thought they did a good job initially, however within 1 month, the door had already cracked in three places. After spending close to $3000 for their work, I am fairly disappointed in the final product and the overall process.

They do accept credit cards but pass on the four percent charge to customers. And they take checks. One thing you also need to understand, all of this was done basically by remote control. I left for FL to have an operation and these guys kept me updated. You might think there is better but I doubt it. So pleased. Added a few photographs of work being completed. You can see the job being done. My insurance adjuster was surprised that a company provided their client ongoing photographic proof of the job being done. Ahead of time, he explained in detail how they'd need to dig a deep trench and start the base of the wall several feet underground. The concrete would have a lattice of rebar in it and... it was more than I could understand but it sounded extremely thorough and strong. The crew did an excellent job on the wall and taking care of the surrounding property. There is a small brick wall near the big wall that was also in disrepair -- as part of their clean up, they actually ended up putting the brick wall back together better than it was before. They got to work within a couple of weeks of signing the paperwork (given how most contractors these days are slow, this was very impressive) and the work was done on schedule. Even now, we think they did an outstanding job laying new hardwood and sanding. However, 1 year later the floors were showing a lot of wear after supposedly using 3 coats of Duraseal oil based polyurethane. 4 years later we now have to refinish our floors. In multiple areas the color has completely worn away and in some other areas it's peeling. I even reached out to Duraseal to find out if this lack of durability is expected. They told me that it's possible if they didn't apply enough layers, didn't give it enough time to dry between layers, or applied it too thin or thick. Since we were not living at the house when the work was done we couldn't monitor this. Since they were sloppy enough to dent our new floor with cans, they could've been sloppy applying Duraseal. The companies coming in to quote us to refinish our floors are flabbergasted at the amount of wear in such a short period of time. Every vendor said it looks like they didn't apply enough coats. I'm not sure what the actual reasoning is. Hardwood Guys had competitive pricing. However, it cost us more in the long run. Now, we have to pay a second time, deal with dust, VOCs, and smell, in addition to being displaced with a young child to redo the work that should've been done properly in the first place.

Well the finished rooms look brand new now ... the detail of the wood is beautiful. The entire process of dealing with this company was top notch professional from the initial home visit consultation to the actual job itself. The 2 workers sent to the house were so amazing: respectful, presentable, hardworking and very good at their job. They plastic covered everything and advised me how best to set the A/C and windows for maximum drying. They came several days in a row and were easy to deal with regarding scheduling. Lastly, their price was super! No wonder the Property Brothers like this company. I will definitely use them again for future projects.
