Went and got my hair cut from Jordan today. Did a decent job, unfortunately the atmosphere is not very family friendly. There was a barber at the station closest to the restroom that was more interested in boasting about his sexual conquests than providing a professional atmosphere. There were kids and women present and yet he kept talking about how his wife wanted him to baptize her friend's kid and he was like "if I spend my money on that how am I supposed to pay for my hookers?" I was wondering why there were couches in there that almost look like something people use to sleep in, but quickly stopped wondering when he started saying he closes the shop and has sex with all types of prostitues in there while his wife things he's working. If you do go there, stick with the older guys and don't sit on the couches. read more

I got a cut months ago by the old man. Dude it's time to hang up your clippers! You jacked my hair up so bad, Lord knows how cruddy of a job you did. Grandpas hands shake so bad, don't let him touch your head! Not trying to be mean, just being true. Went recently again. Wanted to give them a second chance right? Asked Jesse how long his wait was. He told me he didn't know since a few people were there. Okay so I wait..I'm 2 away from getting cut and boom some guy comes in and Jesse takes him next. Okay figured he had an appointment. Two barbers open, I'm the only one in there and just waiting for Jesse. The tool knew I was waiting for him the whole time, and tells me he is busy as he is finishing his appointment and I'm the only one left! Told me he has appointments and nobody was there, let me repeat, nobody! I left and took my money elsewhere. Took my twin boys in for the first time to J&J Barber Shop back in November and Jess did an amazing job. We waited to be attended a reasonably amount of time, not too long, and was very happy with the result. I've been coming here for years.... YEARS! I think the first time I went here I was about 11 or 12 and now I'm over 24. So yea, years! For the most part, the same people have worked here since. They've gotten a new barber here or there. The staff is very friendly, they're very talkative if you talk to them or they won't force you into small chit chat if you sit there with your mouth shut. The choice is YOURS. :D This place is one of those good ol Hispanic barber shops. "What does that mean?" It means they specialize in fades since 90% of their customers (which are probably 99% Hispanic) ask for fades. So yea, I've been getting the same haircut pretty much my entire teen and adult life, a fade. They also do the uh... finishing shave move in which they get one them barber razors and shave you along the edges of your hair (so side burns, around the ear, behind the neck), but if you don't want that or are in a hurry you can simply ask them to skip that; I sometimes do when I'm in a rush. When I was going to UC Irvine I got my haircut near there and I asked for a fade and let's just say I never got my hair cut down near UC Irvine again. I would drive back home (San Fernando Valley), visit my family, and get a haircut here at J & J. As for their price.... It used to be 8$ 10 years ago, then 9$ and right now it is 10$ which is still really damn cheap for a haircut. So if you're looking for a place to get a fade then this is definitely a place you should check out. I've never had them cut my hair any other soo... yeaaaaa... not sure if I'd go here for anything fancy. He was talking about his bowel movements while I was here. Some real nasty stuff. I get it, this is a mom and pop type place. OK. But dude. Shut up. Love this Barber shop Jess takes good care of his customers and takes pride in his profession. Great family barbershop been going here for 15 years now, my kids are going there as well. Much respect to the elder barber that has been cutting hairs for decades. But it took him almost 2 hours to cut a simple fade that should have taken no more than 30mins. I didn't understand why he repeatedly cut the same areas over and over. And in the end the entire cut was extremely messed up and obviously not complete. Certainly will not ever go there again. By the way, I did not enjoy the barber eating while cutting my hair. read more

So unexpected since the webpage looks kid friendly.Disgusting, disrespectful, foul language atmosphere by owner or manager not sure which one of those he is but based on his conversation I feel he has to hold one of those positions. While waiting for my husband and 5yr old son to be done with their hair cuts with Barber Jose a barber who's stationed near the restroom door began boosting very loudly to he's client about how with the money from the shop he was able to get high quality prostitutes and thanks to his hours at the shop he could have them go there while his wife thinks he's working. After I very loudly said "we're never coming here again it's very unprofessional"he kept with his conversation all he did was lower his voice but keep going into details about how he would sometimes take them to hotels. Feel sorry for he's wife, hope she doesn't catch anything from him. The Barber Jose was nice and gave my son some lollipops when we left. read more
