From having confidence in my ability to defend myself to how to engage with my coworkers and students, or be a dad, there is something to be learned from karate for every area of your life. Now I have the pleasure of training here with my daughters. I highly recommend checking it out.

At the time, I had no idea of the gem I found! Fast-forward to today and I, my (now 20 year old daughter), my son (14), and my baby (6) all are students. This place is a second home for us; I even met my husband at the dojo. Over the years I have seen so many people entrust their children to this place and all because of one thing, the Sensei (teacher). This dojo, through its Sensei and other senior practitioners, offers something many other dojo's do not, a true understanding and love for the martial art of karate. They pass this on to the students. OGKI is about more than punching and kicking. At OGKI students receive more than just basic martial arts instruction. They also get philosophy, history, forms, fighting skills, social skills, and will gain self awareness. There are two classes, children and teen/adults. All classes meet Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The kids' class is an intro to karate and intgrates basics with conditioning and a lot of fun. Most of the kids seem to love it. The adult class brings all of these skills together. It is noteworthy to add that you can totally start as an adult. I started at age 32, and am fine! Overall I highly recommend this dojo for anyone looking for traditional Okinawan Karate. You won't regret it.

However, I was so wrong and so right at the same time. The classes here are definitely what you make them. Since it is structured more like a community center, the staff is very supportive, always giving you attention to improve your overall form and fitness, and they definitely know how to give you a good workout. Danny, the main instructor, is very friendly and will definitely push you to achieve your goals. Twice a week they have running days outside at the top of the parking garage mixed with lunges that will definitely work out every muscle in your legs. I remember I woke up sore after my first running day. The temperature at the top of the parking garage is very brisk which makes for a good workout. The two other days are indoors where you will do some cardio and kicking on the large padded kicking stands. This only pertains to their kickboxing classes. I don't think I have ever met instructors who are as supportive as the ones in United Martial Arts, and I also don't think I have ever woken up from a class so sore the next day. They definitely work you out within that one hour time frame. I have had the opportunity to sit through martial arts classes at the center, and you can tell that the place is very family-friendly, and they give their 100% to have their students succeed. Also, if you sign-up with a friend, you can get a discounted rate. They definitely try their best to work with your price range. Unfortunately, I am taking classes in the evening which prevents me from going to this center because all their kickboxing classes are at 7 pm, Monday to Thursday. However, if I were free again, I would definitely like to take another class with them.

Their new staff is dedicated to teaching every student the skills needed to succeed. Master Isa has been a great addition to the team and has helped my daughter gain her confidence as a freshman sparring student. This class is for anyone, if your in shape or out of shape. Sheyla makes the class fun but at the same time always pushes you. The girls are all welcoming and you never feel uncomfortable. Her prices are very reasonable and I believe FIU students even get a discount. The girls that go range from high school to working professionals. It's a great way to get your cardio in. Even if you already go to the gym and have a routine. This is a great stress reliever and way to make cardio fun. She has morning and afternoon classes, making it easy to find a good time for you. Sheyla is also a great teacher. When I first started I didn't really know much and now I feel confident and like I know what I'm doing haha. Unfortunately, I'm moving so I won't be able to come anymore. But if you needed a push to try WKF, this is it! Try it out, the first class is free!! I'll miss all of you! Thank you for kicking my butt every day and making me laugh :)

I am in the best shape of my life because of Sheyla's amazing classes. She does not give up on you and makes you dig deeper. I guess the only way to describe it without going on and on is giving it 5 stars! It's a very fun group of women in the fitness classes, it's a great time honestly.:)

The facilities is a very large 2-story commercial warehouse converted into a martial arts facility. It is full of exercise and martial arts equipment. The staff and the (Rodriguez) family that operate the facilities have shown exceptional hospitality and customer service. The quality of the senseis (teachers) are as well exceptional. All are black belts and among them grand champions in their specific discipline of karate, jiu-jitsu, kick-boxing, defense weapons, etc. They offer after school as well as summer school programs with transportation. Their programs stress the importance of discipline and responsibility to their students with consequences for improper behavior or disrespect. Advancement is based on merit as students earn their belts while qualifying based on their knowledge, in my child's case, of Karate. I strongly invite anyone to visit. They have a one-week tryout for your child in all the disciplines they offer so that you and your child may make an educated decision. They will also assist you if your child would like to take part in local and national competitions through USA Karate. I've observed from 3 year olds (adorable) to adults. Everyone is enjoying the experience.
