Josh was extremely accommodating, often moving sessions back an hour if I was working a bit later that day with only an hour or so notice. His process throughout our time together was great. We started with covering basics of the three topics, which I definitely needed, and narrowed down to individual problem types as the sessions moved on. I always left those sessions hoping to see those problem types on the test. Truly would turn weak spots into strengths of mine. Seeing the progress reflected in practice test scores was great and happened quickly. I couldn't recommend Manhattan Prep and Josh enough.

On his initial diagnostic test, his ability to focus was 'low average' and his frequency of breaks and guidance from tutor were 'often.' Bright Kids did a very good job in preparing my son and teaching him some tricks and test taking skills. Gratefully, my son scored well and is currently attending a citywide G&T school. Our child frequently got different instructors administering the lessons. After each lesson, I would be given a quick recap of what occurred. Later a more descriptive summary report would arrive via email. This was useful in helping me to concentrate in certain areas of weakness at home. Our Account Specialist Taylor was very responsive, he answered emails promptly and was very accommodating with our scheduling issues. The only negative experience we had at Bright Kids was with the Round 2 Hunter playdate. It was overpriced, with 3 sentences of vapid feedback.

They do not teach the children strategies in test taking such as preparing for the SAT or for a Regents examination. Further, they seem to be out of touch with how my child was doing. They told me my child was doing well in a subject and had great confidence he would do well on a critical upcoming NYS examination. Imagine my shock and displeasure when my child failed! Sylvan refused to refund my money, and suddenly came up with all sorts of excuses as if they never had told me he was doing well. How do you find the right fit? How do you find a tutor that aligns with your goals? How do you…read morefind a reliable, effective company? How do you find a tutor who teaches in a relatable way? Well, the short answer is, look no further. You have found them right here. I hesitated for quite a while to find a tutor for my daughter. She is a great student but lacked confidence in math. Starting her freshman year at an academically challenging high school on Zoom was finally what pushed me to seek outside help. She was doing well but still felt like she didn't really "get it". I was looking for the lightbulb to switch on and Alexander Tutoring is doing just that. They believe, as I do, that math is doable and is not impossible. The key is confidence. They believe there is often a "moment" where a normally confident kid suddenly feels like they "can't do math". A bad grade, a bad teacher, and an embarrassing moment. They work to undo that in a supportive, constructive environment. They are well priced, extremely flexible, and have a large enough staff so your kid can find the tutor with whom they jive. They have been doing remote before the pandemic and have it down to a science. And it's one on one tutoring. We love this program and am so happy we found them!

My sister attended Insight tutoring center and I saw some really drastic changes. I will start by saying her tutor Jen is beyond amazing and patient. I spent so much money on private tutoring and looking for a tutor for her SAT on Wyzant which was a waste of money. I was recommended to Jen and I can not say enough. My sister started seeing Jen last year for SAT tutoring and it really helped. My sister had gotten a bad score the first time she took the SAT and I have to give it to Jen because no exaggeration I saw a 350 point increase from her previous SAT score!! Like is that even possible??!! She ended up doing really well after intensive tutoring with Jen. Her prices were so reasonable compared to the private tutors I hired! In all seriousness my sister got at least 6 acceptance letters most notably to Brooklyn College, Hunter College, Touro, Penn State and NYU. I have to say I AM BEYOND GRATEFUL for Jen's patience and compassion for what she does. I most recently found out she has since expanded and has tutors for physics, chemistry, elementary and middle school math as well as history and English. While I am sure those tutors are amazing, Jen is a superstar with SAT/ACT. If your kid is struggling bring them to HER! I can guarantee you will see an improvement and will thank me!! She helped my sister with applications due to her experience in college application consulting and really helped my sister in excelling in what she struggled the most in which is math. From a 1120 to a 1470 after months of prep I am so grateful to insight tutoring. Contact them and ask for Jen!
