The ride itself is longer than the original and a little less realistic - I'd say the animatronics are weaker and a little more doll like, but it has some of the classic vibes and I personally thought the air quality was better than expected. It is a must do at Disneyland Paris? No. But we had Premier Access so there was no reason not to try it out and see what their version was like, so if you're in the same boat I'd definitely recommend trying it out. However all in all, if there's a wait time past 20 minutes and you've been on another version and don't have PA, I think this version could easily be skipped.

The food is also not as good at this park, but there are some wonderful sit-down dining experiences. Pros and cons, but overall a park that's worth the visit at least once! Really enjoyed a few of the rides. For the thrilling rides, I LOVED Hyperspace Mountain. Coming from CA, it was not at all what I expected, but I had a great time. It was basically a full-on roller coaster and I screamed the entire time. Avengers Flight Force was also unexpectedly thrilling. Loved Crush's Coaster and of course Frozen Ever After and Ratatouille were fantastic. I really liked Phantom Manor which I found to be spookier than the original Haunted Mansion. Big Thunder was fun (and longer) and more thrilling than its CA counterpart. I had a great time!

While we absolutely adored Tokyo Disney, which is unique from it's merch to it's rides, Disneyland Paris feels like a logistically difficult echo to what's in the states. The TGV train from the airport wasn't great and getting picked up by Uber at the station was rife with scams. We felt generally that the park was not worth the hassle you go through to transit there (somewhat similar to my feelings on WDW actually). That being said the food was good and I enjoyed trying our Premier Access for rides (it made our visit a lot more smooth) but all in all I don't see us coming back as there's not much here that's unique outside of their fantastically large pins.

Finally, the pin trading at Disneyland Paris is not to be beat. The pins are amazing, high quality and large, and trading in Adventureland was one of the highlights of our visit. This park is pretty small, but is about to become a lot larger with the Frozen land opening next year. For now, you'll find Toy Story Land, Avengers Campus, and some favorites like Tower of Terror and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. PLus, some unique rides, like Crush's Coaster (my fave in the park!!) I love the entrance, which is a large, inside area that makes you feel like you are under a starry night sky in Hollywood. This park is literally right next to the entrance of DLP, so it's easy to park hop. You'd probably get everything done in a day here easily, if not sooner. It's good for what it is, but nothing like its neighboring park. I can't wait to see it get even better next year, though!

The version in California is a big dark and spooky. I loved it! This one seemed to have the same level of scary. Probably not for really little kids. They might get too scared.

From what I read because they changed the music for French audiences and this version is in Frontierland they changed the scope of the ride and felt it needed a different name. In my opinion, Phantom Manor (like most of the rides we rode at Disneyland Paris) was weaker than the original at Disneyland. It does feel slightly longer but from the music to the decor to the doom buggies, everything is just a little less magical. The best parts are the echos of the original. With Premier Pass the ride was walk on (although up a few sets of stairs), so I definitely recommend riding it if you visit, but I would keep my expectations low.
