Haha) and it was once again a lovely experience. We had a voucher for 2 free tickets and 2 free popcorns and drinks. I purchased the tickets online and paid $10 extra for the premier seats. We saw the 9:45pm show and the theatre was pretty dead. The staff working the concessions were friendly and fast. The premier seats are next level. This is luxuryyyyy. We really enjoyed the electric reclining chairs and the side tables are so convenient for your popcorn! I don't wanna sit in a basic seat again lol. The whole thing was once again a pleasant experience. They really ain't got nothing on Cineplex. Oh, but Landmark could probably renovate their washrooms cuz they STILL have those faucets that you press and have to rush to finish washing your hands lol.

When there are aircraft, it makes me happy. The Avro Monument is a replica of a full-sized Avro aircraft next door to Paul Coffey Arena. It was so unexpected and such a delightful find. This all-weather aircraft was designed for the Canadian Military in Malton. Malton has a rich history in aircraft, which includes building the Avro Arrow back in the 1950's. It is perfectly fitting why a monument was established here. The replica aircraft is stunning to look at. Back in 1978, there was a CF-100 Mk 5 Canuck Aircraft here. It was restored in 2017, which is what you see here now. Both plaques from 1978 and 2017 are just under the aircraft on a concrete beam. I learned so much reading them. I enjoy being a tourist and learning about a cool part of history that was previously vague in my mind. You can park either at Paul Coffey Arena or Light Korean Presbyterian Church. I did the latter, as it's closer to get to this monument. It was a great find. Free and enlightening. I recommend dropping by to soak up some cool Canadian history. (356)

There are lots of steps to climb it but the view is worth it. Plus if you are visiting Casa Loma, this is a great spot to soak in that skyline. As a local, I come here from time to time if I'm in the area just to admire the beauty and snap pictures of the CN tower. Definitely do check it out! Great views.

However, if you're in the area to see Casa Loma or any of the other attractions around, these are a nice set of stairs to climb up. At the top, there's a great view of downtown Toronto and the CN tower. Walk around a bit and you'll see Casa Loma and a number of old heritage buildings in the neighborhood. Enjoy!

On September 28th the Town of Richmond Hill revealed this piece of outdoor street art in the city's…read moredowntown village. The statue stands 14 feet high and is made almost entirely of granite and bronze is a figure to promote Richmond Hill's culture. Fitting that it has been erected in front of its shining center piece the Richmond Hill Performing Arts Centre (designed in the likeness of the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto). The bronze sculpture is of two intertwined dancers on top of the granite base of ascending piano keys and is the vision, mission and passion for the last two years of Richmond Hill Councillor Nick Papa. Designed by artist and designer William Ho and sculptor John Porretta the estimated cost of the statue (with funds provided exclusively by generous local businesses - no taxpayers dollars were spent) is approximately just shy of $200,000. Princes' Gate is named after two princes: - Prince Edward - Prince George They were brothers who attended this gate's official opening on August 30, 1927. The gate was supposed to be called The Diamond Jubilee of Confederation Gates. I am so glad that they simplified this stuffy name to what it has been known as ever since. I worked at the Canadian National Exhibition (The Ex) for three summers when I was in high school (two consecutive summers) and an undergrad. I would take the 511 Bathurst streetcar to the loop that used to be where Enercare Centre currently resides. I'd end up walking through the gate with my pass to get to work. Within the last year, I have been attending more hockey games at Coca-Cola Coliseum. I see more Toronto Marlies games than Toronto Sceptres. They are both affordable and exciting games to attend. When the games are over, I tend to see the Princes' Gate as I head home. The statues are lovely pieces. Most folks drive by without stopping to admire them. Traffic sucked last Saturday. It was nice to take photos and admire this gate. The statues have gone through a number for restorations over the decades. They look great. It's still a fabulous gate. I'm glad that I can admire and appreciate it whenever I'm near Enercare Centre and Coca-Cola Coliseum. (82)

Just off of Lakeshore and Strachan, Torontos Princes' Gates stand like the unofficial gates to the…read morecity. With their angels positioned across the span of the gates giving watch, you'd think these were the gates to heaven not just an entry way to the exhibition grounds. The gates were originally named "The Diamond Jubilee of Confederation Gates," but when the directors learned that Edward, Prince of Wales, and his brother Prince George were going to be in Toronto that year, they changed the name. The Princes were both present at its official opening on Tuesday, August 30, 1927, and the Princes' Gates were born. So what's so great about the Princes' (commonly confused, even by me, as the 'Princess') gates? They're one of the few pieces of historic architecture (statues) in Toronto that show us a far more renaissance period of time for the city. The only other major area where statues and landmarks of this magnitude can be seen are those that are near Queens Park, and along University Ave to name a few. For the person less excited by the historical significance of the gates, you'll be happy to know that they are the main entrance to the annual CNE and it's also where many Indy Cart race cars Zip through during the annual Honda (formerly Molson) Indy. Just a little T-dot culture for you all.

THe Tour is about 90 minutes long and was very informative and well organised. I had Rory as my guide. Highly recommend to do a tour with a guide and then wander back to the places you feel like revisiting again. I would say to appreciate Little Canada, please put aside at least 3 hours minimum to enjoy the whole area as there is a lot of stuffs to see. I also noticed they update and some changes to the decors for each area, leading me to find something new each time I visit. I ended up bumping with the creator or this place, Mr. Jean-Louis Brenninkmeijer. It was the first time I ever bumped into him after visiting so many times. The staff was quite surprised to see him on site on a Saturday. I told him it really an honour to meet him in person and I told him how happy I was to visit Little Canada. I noticed that Sundays are not as a busy during Winter. Saturday was much more busier, with lots more people and even school visits. I noticed on my last visit, there was no more spring water station. I don't know if it is permanent or not. Their coat check was also not working. Instead, they had racks sitting outside at the entrance though the coat check is free of charge. I highly recommend to get an individual pass or a family pass, especially if you are a fan of miniatures. I feel I always discover something new on each visit. Good for a year with unlimited visits and also 10% discount in the gift shop. It also gives a 25% discount each time for your visitors. If not buying a pass, pre-purchase your ticket online also saves up to $4 on admission. It costs much more to purchase admission on site.

I think artists are priced out of the city now, and it's not easy to put time into such one-night-only passion projects when you are struggling to even stay afloat. What a pity. With sadness, we wandered around the square and the surrounding buildings. Glad we were able to see some things, but also, not sure if this is an event worth looking for anymore... There were volunteers around each display, but for the interactive ones, there was a marked lack of guidance. The installation where a "city" was being built and rebuilt was quite interesting. Some multilingual art seemed done through google translate or something, as what it said in English totally did come through in Korean or in Mandarin. Oh well...
