The closest thing Ireland has to any kind of specific national quarter in the city centre proper, the Italian Quarter is pushing the limits of the name. Yes it has quite a few Italian restaurants and yes it has one of the best ice cream places around (Botticelli's), but to call it a true quarter is possibly a misnomer. However, it is quite cool. The piazza-style layout, the outdoor seating and the multitude of good-looking men make it well worth a trip, and the Italian food is actually more authentic than most of the rest of the city. read more
