Other than that I must admit there was not much that took place, during this 20 minute engagement, that is worth recalling. Basically if your like me; a man, and specifically one who does not want to spend much money on a haircut Just Gents is a good place for you to come, get your hair cut then get out. I'm sure if you wanted a super-mocha-wash-dry-blow -nip-dye-perm-texture redefine-super hair cut (whatever the hell that is) they probably do it here to. But for me the £9 cut sufficed well enough, and seeing as I live near I will probably come again.

When I stepped inside, I was impressed to find a clean and tastefully designed shop; along one wall are the barber's chairs, on the other side of the room is a small seating area for those needing a wait. The staff are pretty friendly, happy to chat about football and what other bits of small talk you can think of. The cut itself was fine; my expectations weren't exceeded by any means, but at £7 that was always going to be the case.

Offering the whole knife grinding, wet shaving, classic cutting shebang, it's the attention to the traditional barber experience that really sets this place apart. Like a male-grooming TARDIS, the inside reveals a surprisingly spacious interior and a step-back in time with the lovingly restored fittings reclaimed from a 1920s Chicago barbershop. With just two chairs (authentic of course) and the owner on hand, you are treated to twenty-five years of experience and a history lesson thrown in for good measure. Forty-five minutes later my partner emerged smooth and sweet-smelling with what he described as the closest and most enjoyable shave of his life, complete with head massage and moisturising treatment. I'd recommend booking an appointment. As a one-man operation, the personal touch comes at the expense of a guaranteed drop-in spruce up. Also, the authentic experience comes at a price with the traditional wet shave coming in at £28. I would definitely recommend to any hirsute gents looking for an indulgent groom, but perhaps pop into your local barbers for your regular trim.

I couldn't be more happy with the style. Going from long hair to short hair is a drastic change, but the barbers here are skillful and efficient. Not only did they provide an amazing cut, but they were open and honest about advising what styles would best fit my head's shape. They recommended products for my specific hair type and I walked away completely satisfied. Do yourself a favor and step back into the 1920's with these hand-crafted stylists. They even touched up my mustache masterfully.

A standard haircut is around £8-9, and the guy who owns it is a really nice guy, The shop itself is pretty modest, and sometimes its only the owner who is working, but even when that's the case I've never had to wait for too long. Things are clean and tidy, and the shop front window seems to catch a lot of the days sun, so it always feels bright in there. I love getting my haircut generally, but for some reason I find this place especially relaxing.

The haircut was also decent and nothing to complain about (considering hairdressers can mess up incredibly). I recommend and trust this place!
