This, I think, is the some of the VERY best money we have spent on any of our children. Alyssa is a true professional and the peace of mind she has given me is priceless. I cannot believe the transformation in my child. She went from having a pretty intense fear of water to being a total fish-loving to swim independently! As soon as it is a bit warmer, I can't wait to get her back in the water with Alyssa! We LOVE ISR! read more

I can't say enough about what Alyssa has done for our family. While other swimming lessons taught my sons to splash and kick on command, ISR has taught my children to swim, quickly, eyes open, fully underwater, and to float completely unassisted while wearing heavy winter clothing. Serious, life saving skills. I was hesitant at first to sign up for 3 reasons: time commitment, expense, and more than anything else, fear that my kids would freak out and develop a fear of water. As for time commitment - you get used to the routine of coming daily very quickly and it becomes a fun activity that is just a part of your day. As for expense, first, it is an investment in your child's safety. Second, given the training and serious time investment Alyssa puts forward with each student, you get more than your money's worth. And as for fear: the opposite came true. My boys are so PROUD of what they have accomplished (because it's hard work!), and are more excited than ever to be in the water. I would not hesitate to recommend ISR lessons with Alyssa to anyone and everyone. read more

Specialties

Infant swimming resource lessons are available to infants and young children 6 months-6 years old. These safe and effective lessons are customized to your child and taught one on one. We do not offer group lessons. Your child's lesson experience will be unique and to provide the safest possible lesson, the instructor's attention will be focused on your child only throughout the lesson period. Lessons are no more than 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. In order to master these ISR Self-Rescue® skills, the enrollment period is typically between 4 and 6 weeks. Your certified instructor will provide instruction to your child that emphasizes developmentally appropriate skills training, health issues and considerations, ongoing program evaluations, and parent education.

Meet the Business Owner: Alyssa N.

Alyssa first learned of Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) in the fall of 2013 when she took her daughter to the local community pool where they then lived in Hawaii and saw a child the same age as her daughter doing the swim, float, swim. Alyssa quickly started asking the mom of the little boy questions of where did he learn how to swim like that at such a young age, and it was then the mom of the little boy explained to her about ISR. Colbie, then began ISR lessons a few short weeks later, has since completed ISR swim lessons successfully and continues to attend maintenance lessons. Alyssa was so amazed by the lessons she quickly began to research to see if there were any instructors near her hometown of Middleton, WI. Alyssa found that there was only one instructor in the entire state of Wisconsin and it was about a two hour drive from her hometown. At that moment Alyssa knew she wanted to inquire about becoming a certified ISR Instructor and fulfilling the mission of ISR.

This pool is everything. Especially on a hot day in Madison!…read more This Sunday we went here on a whim for the first time. It was so nice! So much space for all people. There's areas for lap swimming/more adult centric activities, and kiddo friendly sections. And it has a slide!!!! No need to wait for hours at a water park to go down a slide. This slide gives you the thrill you seek, with no wait. Less the kiddos also waiting for their turn! The chairs are ready great quality for a public pool. They aren't the most comfortable thing in the world, but they are sturdy and do the job. Water was clean. I saw one hairball in the drain, which was a little gross, but for a public pool I felt safe. I didn't venture into the bathrooms this time so can't speak to those. My partner went to see the snack station and said there were plenty of affordable options should you get hungry. You are allowed to bring in food and drink, but there is a designated area to eat them. I saw a full season for residents is $85 and a daily was $6 (at time of writing this review). It's worth checking out for how reasonable it is. I'll definitely be back again!

We love Goodman pool. There are concessions back now - Ice cream, chips and candy plus sodas and…read morewater. Big community pool with two fun slides and two diving boards. Lifeguards do a great job. Tons of deck chairs plus lawn to sit on. Zero depth pool for the little ones. Super family friendly. Diverse attendees unlike pretty much every other pool in Madison. All inclusive swim and dive team and morning swim lessons too. We love it here!
