No giant needle. No numbing half the face. His bedside manor was great. The extraction was $60. A bit more than some other Mexican dentists, but he's far better than even most American dentists. I almost took a star off the rating over the $2000 price of an implant for me, but it's still less than an implant in America and American insurance will reimburse. They did for the extraction. I haven't gotten the implant yet (still saving for it), but I plan to soon.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield through my employer and allowed up to $1500 a year for dental work. Was going there for years paying cash because I didn't have insurance. now I do through my employer. This pain, that pain and the pain to my wallet doesn't help either. The dentists and staff here made all of those pains go away. We will be returning and referring everyone we know to this place. Yes, it's in Mexico (and?) You can literally walk to this location within a minute from the border itself. The facility is very clean and despite some minor construction spots, I would happily take this place over every dental office in this country any day. Fortunately, in Juneau I had a fantastic dentist who patiently explained to me that he didn't want to fit me with dentures for my 40th birthday, and I finally mended my ways and got things mostly patched up. But the underlying damage combined with some truly horrendous dental experiences in the past have led me to regard going to a new dentist with some dread. Unfortunately, after a year and a half down here, I found myself in need of a dentist once again, so on the recommendation of a friend I went to Kristine Gomez. Her office is in an old phone company building, but has been redone to be very light and airy and surprisingly modern - I especially liked the memory-foam chair (just the thing for a nervous patient!) and the digital x-ray camera. Everyone was very friendly, and the doctor herself had an excellent bedside manner. Plus she was quite competent, and fast - she complimented me on my hygiene, fixed the one tooth (including getting the novocaine in the right place the first time, a trick that has eluded several other dentists I've seen), took some x-rays, and that was that. I don't think I could have been in there longer than forty minutes, including the wait time at the start. I enthusiastically rebooked for a cleaning and the other filling I'll need. I'm not even sure I can express how pleased I am to have found such a good dentist out here in rural Arizona.

Oh sure, you can make an appointment to come see us in a few weeks. And after you spend money on x-rays and cleaning, then we'll discuss your broken tooth. She didn't ask when my last cleaning and x-rays were. Over the years in my accounting practice I have seen this problem with front office help more often than you would expect. I always wonder how professionals such as dentists and vets can be completely unaware of their public face, which quite often isn't very pleasant. The dental care and professionalism used to be excellent, but preventative care is sorely lacking…read more I hope that the care has improved since the time of this review. To maintain dental health, it is very important to have regular dental exams every 6 months. This helps to identify any dental issues early on, and hopefully avoid the need for extractions, crowns, etc. I had been a client of Pueblo Del Sol Dental for many years (about 12+ years) and the care and customer service was EXCELLENT. But it seems that something changed somewhere along the line. I had a permanent bridge installed by Dr. Trujillo and was told at the time that it was essential to maintain my dental hygiene or the bridge would fail and I would need a new bridge installed, which is a very painful and expensive procedure. At the 6 month point for my bi-yearly dental exam, I called to schedule my usual exam, and was told that it would be more than 6 months to be able to see any hygienist or dentist. I explained that I had a bridge installed by Dr. Trujillo, and it was my understanding that if I did not keep up with my regular exams, it was likely that the bridge would fail. The scheduler/receptionist did tell me to keep trying to call and they would see if they could get me in sooner as I was a long-standing patient. I did finally get an appointment a month later, and saw a hygienist who was EXCELLENT. (I wish I could remember her name!) She carefully showed me the optimal oral hygiene sequence for my bridge and actually let me try it while she watched and clarified anything that I had missed. She was wonderful! But when it was time for my next 6-month apointment, I called to schedule my next 6-month appointment with the hygienist, so that there wouldn't be any lag timem abd was told that the earliest appointment with any hygienist would be in 12 months (a full year away) Sadly, after being a long-standing patient for more than 12 years, I had to quickly find another dentist or risk jeopardizing my bridge. I was able to find another dentist's office that was able to schedule me with one of the dentists without a long delay, and then with a hygienist shortly after. I am very sad that Pueblo Del Sol no longer provides the care that they once did. I had been going there so long it almost felt like "family" I don't know what happened, but I truly hope that they can somehow regain their integrity and care for patients. The reason for the 4 star review is that for many, many years this office was excellent and caring. I don't know what changed and I hope that somehow the excellence and care that this office had demonstrated years ago will return. This review is partly regarding the many years in the past when this office showed care for their clients, and partly regarding the experience I had with the scheduler almost a year ago. I hope that things have turned around at this date, and that patients are treated with more care and concern at this time. And I am thankful that I was able to find another dentist's office that provides excellent care in a timely manner. Otherwise I may have compromised my bridge and have had to have another one, at a cost of around $6,000.

Just say you are not accepting new patients at this time! Called another well known dentist and was scheduled within the week. Not a patient, so I cannot comment on the care, but the front of house definitely needs some adjustments.
