I am a paying Walmart+ member and was using the Walmart+ self-checkout area. I originally planned…read moreto use Scan & Go, but one of my items was not eligible, so I manually entered my phone number and began scanning my items at the register. The associate supervising the area, identified as Julia Marmolejo. She insisted that I use Scan & Go. When I calmly explained that I could not because of a specific item, she told me, "If you won't do Scan & Go, you need to go and pay like everyone else. You can't pay like that," and pointed me toward the regular lines.Shortly after, my transaction was stopped on the screen that she removed with a device she had on her hand , preventing me from continuing. It appeared that it had been remotely paused. To avoid further conflict, I used Scan & Go and completed my purchase through the app. When I asked her to verify my items, she refused to help me and told me to find someone else, even though no other associate was available. I remained calm and respectful the entire time. The interaction felt horrible. She is so RUDE AND DISCRIMINATIVE!! I also could not help but question whether assumptions were made about me based on my APPEARANCE or AGE, as I was told to "pay like everyone else" despite paying monthly for Walmart+ benefits.SHE IS A HORRIBLE WORKER.
