We hired Islanders Luau for our daughters graduation party. They were fantastic! They were friendly and professional. Maril kept the crowd entertained throughout the night, and the dancers were amazing. About a third of our family is vegan/plant-based and their chef was able to adjust the menu to accommodate our dietary needs, and tasty enough to satisfy everyone. It was a great night that we will never forget! I highly recommend them for any occasion! Thank you Islanders Luau!!! read more

Aloha! On September 4th I booked an Luau for my mothers "100th" Birthday party! With Islanders Luau, Maril and his family outdid themselves. Maril was wonderful to help with the picks of food and entertainment. We had hula girls, flame dancer, whom happened to be a cousin to two of our guests to their surprise. and the MC that played the music for us. We had plenty of food for everyone plus some to take home. Thank you everyone of you for making memories to last a lifetime! read more

Maril and all the crew at Islander's Luau did an amazing job at providing a full-service luau in keeping with all the traditions and events one would expect from a luau in the islands. The food was delicious, plentiful, fresh and hot, as they grilled it on site. I appreciated that Islander's took care of everything... decorations, food, entertainment, DJ, set up & breakdown. Our guests loved the interactive Polynesian show, and I highly recommend the palm leaf weaving activity which was enjoyed by young & old alike. Maril accommodated all of our special requests and was flexible and helpful. He had a way of being easy going while still managing to stay on top of all communications & requests. We will be using Islander's and recommending them to all our friends for many years to come. read more

I'm way over due on this review. In April, my husband and I arranged a vow renewal with our friends and family in hawaii. Due to Covid, we had to cancel. We were devastated that our plans fell through. However, we decided to host a luau to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had Islander's Luau cater for us. Everything was amazing! From food to decorations. They brought Hawaii to us, and we were so happy how it turned out. Merril and his team were amazing and professional. Thank you guys for making our wedding anniversary amazing and memorable. read more

All I can say is WOW! We had Maril and the crew come to our community to perform a covid-safe show for our residents that have been in quarantine since March. There performance was a beautiful tribute to all of the south pacific cultures, and super fun! The resident's were talking about it for day's after. Thank you for bringing in a little light in this dark time! We will definitely be booking with them again! read more

Maril and his entire team were absolutely amazing! We brought them in to help us with a very special Luau surprise for our TV show "Random Acts" for a deserving family in Riverside, CA - and they definitely pulled out all the stops and created a memorable experience that this family will never forget! Everything from the food, the decorations, the dancers, the music, and Maril as the MC - was absolutely perfect. They are top notch professionals who know how to put on am amazing Luau! read more

We absolutely loved having Islander's Luau be a part of our company's client appreciation party! Everyone was super personable, the decor was good quality, food was delicious and the performance was awesome! We also had some changes and updates to make leading up to our event date and Maril was always very accommodating. I highly recommend Islander's Luau for your next event! read more

We had them do the food for our bowling league, our end of year party. The food was FANTASTIC, highly recommend the, delivery, set up and most of all the taste. People were talking about how everything was so on point. The Hula chicken was terrific, I could go on and on,, but yes if you have a catering needs, especially for Luau/Hawaiian food, a definite must. Great job!! read more

We had a graduation luau and decided on Islanders Luau for our entertainment. We were so pleased with the show and the entire performance. The girls were wonderful and the fire dance amazing! Everyone keeps talking about it being the best party they've been to! We had an amazing time! read more

What can I say? The entertainment, the food, the people, the whole experience was more than I could've asked for and way exceeded my best expectations!! The food was to die for, grilled fresh on site (torturing you with the smell), and OH. SO. GOOD!!! We booked them last minute for an all school party, and they came through quickly and professionally. Set up authentic island educational (and fun) booths and kept the kids entertained all afternoon. All the teachers agreed that having Islanders Luau was like being on the Island itself. The show was mesmerizing and kept the kids (and adults) enthralled and completely captivated. They even stayed after and mingled with the kids, teaching dance moves, letting them see the drums, and taking photos. I will absolutely book with them again. Everyone was amazing, professional, and oh so friendly. They treat you like family. read more

Very professional and sweet girls! Our fire guy had the crowd having a great time. Great entertainment for my sons high school graduation party. He and all his friends will never forget his grad party! The talk of the week!! read more

Wow! I and my family were so impressed. Although we booked on short notice, Maril and company really came through. The dancers showed up early to prepare, they were very talented and the presentation by the male was deeply cultural, respectful and meaningful to all of us watching. We would book Islanders Luau for any fun event where we want to entertain our guests with the best! Yvonne R., Orange, CA read more

I thought it would be an excellent idea to have a laua as my wedding reception after finding this company on here. The reviews were great and the pictures made me feel confident that this was a professional company. To give credit where credit is due, most of the food was amazing, the show was great, and the props were of very high quality. Unfortunately, Maril fell far short of the mark when it came to integrating his party into a wedding reception. He brought the wrong side dishes, forgot the tiki bar, and was extremely unorganized. I told him months in advanced, and over multiple conversations that there was no fire allowed on the property that we were hosting the event on. He went ahead and did the fire dance part of his show anyway. He promised me a DJ to do the first dances and did not provide one. Towards the end of the night when it came time for toasts he refused to let anyone other than the bestman/maid of honor and parents speak. He left without payment the night of the event, then changed the amount owed afterwards adding the tiki bar he brought late onto the order. I responded that I would only be paying half of the almost $1000 in gratuity he was charging me due to how much extra work I had to do, the fact that he had forgotten so many things, was rude to my family, and his servers informed me that he does not tip them out. He argued with me on this, and proceeded to call my family members to try and dispute it with them as well (which I had explicitly asked him not to contact anyone other than me in regards to this matter) I responded by telling him I would be paying no gratuity due to his conduct. When he finally decided to stop arguing with me and take my payment (3 weeks later) he told me you'll be charged x amount (the amount agreed upon) plus 3 weeks interest, and hung up the phone. By far this has been the worst interaction I've had with a company before. It made it that much worse that this happened at my wedding. read more

This review is based on an event I attended that was catered by Islanders Luau. The luau began with the sounding of the conch. Next came the pig hoisted on the shoulders of two guys. Yes! a WHOLE pig...Very impressive. Our Hawaiian buffet included mac salad, choice of white or fried rice, crisp stir fried veggies, teriyaki chicken, kalbi (Korean short ribs), Kalua pork. And...assorted fruit. Plenty of food for seconds and thirds. However, I was a little disappointed that there was only one bowl of Chinese Chicken salad (?). I managed to sneak a taste from hubby's plate. It was delish! I think the highlight for the kids...was definitely the shaved ice stand. (Snow cones...Hawaiian style) Added a genuine touch of aloha to the event. The entertainment took us on a tour of Tahiti, Samoa, New Zealand and Hawaii. I especially enjoyed the fire knife demonstration. Overall, I was very impressed with the food, entertainment and service. I would definitely consider them if I were planning a luau themed event. Two thumbs up! read more

We booked Maril and his team for a surprise 50th birthday party in Long Beach. It was a resounding success. The 100+ guests thoroughly enjoyed the performance and we were surprised at how many of them volunteered during the show. As the event coordinator, I worked with Maril to meet the hotel's terms and conditions. They were great in getting us the information we needed and meeting the specs of the hotel and local authorities (fire department). The show was excellent and very entertaining. Wished we could have used them for the catering too, but the hotel did not accept outside catering. Thanks again to Maril, Ben, and the team for making the evening a hit! read more

Last month I worked with Islanders Luau to put on an 80th Birthday Party for 100. Staff, decorations, food, entertainment, flowers and live music were all great. Guests really felt like they were in the Islands. Birthday girl was thrilled. Maril was easy to work with and very flexible. He was also an outstanding D.J. and performer as he played to the crowd. As an event coordinator, I have to make a special mention of the spectacular fresh floral arrangements and leis. They really brought the Islands to El Cajon! I look forward to working with them again. Sandy R., Escondido read more

This family-owned Polynesian party and event service really knows how to put on an authentic island show. The dancers, sound system, and organization are all excellent, and they will work with you to make your event exactly as you wish. The dancers are really skilled in the Hawaiian ways and culture, as well other Polynesian islands. When they came to the Calavera Hills Elementary Spring Luau, student and parent participation were high on the list of activities, and everybody had a total blast. read more

We had Islanders cater our son's 5th Birthday Luau-as well as perform a show-it brought us back to our recent trip to Maui where we attended the best Luau on the island....that was our intent-to share what we experienced with our friends&family (some of whom are Hawaiian). If you are looking to add an authentic, fun & extraordinary touch to your next Hawaiian party, look no further! Working with Islanders Luau was one of the best customer experiences I have ever had. They are kind, organized, professional & extremely talented! We had a male Polynesian dancer surprise my sister at her birthday party and he absolutely stole the show! He was incredible and exceeded every expectation! The show he put on was better than some I have seen at major luaus in Hawaii! I highly recommend Islanders Luau and want to throw another tropical themed party just to have them back! Thank you! read more

We booked the Islander's Luau for our daughter and Son-in-laws 25th Wedding Anniversary because of the remarkable reviews receive from Yelp, and the photos of what to expect. Just like Polynesia used to be! The dancing, the menu, the Pig roast and parade was memorable, to say the least, and this is a party every one of our guests will remember as the best ever! Especially, the event was handled in a professional and timely manner, as it surpassed all of our expectations! Thank you for an extraodinary experience from the Islands! Bobbie S. read more

This company is awesome! Maril and his team are the real deal in delivering an authentic Hawaiian luau. They made my wedding Luau the most amazing experience. We added the pig ceremony as well. My guests felt really spoiled and everyone said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! From the pre- planning to the delivery I give this company 5 stars! During the show Maril kept us laughing, but also in awe at the fire dance. His niece Kaylee(sp?) Was an exceptional dancer and we loved her greeting the guests with her ukulele. Islanders Luau was a taste of Hawaii's Island in our own back yard. We hired them for my mothers 60th birthday, and they made her night so special. The food was so delicious and served with a smile. I am an engineer and did tons of research beforehand. I tell you this to save you time and money. Just go with Islander's Luau and you'll be happy. Book early before they fill up. We hosted our company retreat and wife's birthday party in December. The per person plate price worked out to $175 each. This was based on the catering and entertainment options we chose and included a substantial discount from Islander's Luau. It does not include the table/chair rentals, alcohol, professional videographer or the fresh flower lei's. We ordered those separately to save some cash. The food was perfect. The live music was perfect. The performance and entertainment was perfect. Everything was perfect. Our luau was at night on December 22nd, meaning the temperature was around 43 degrees. The entertainers were all barefoot and barely dressed giving us an authentic 1 hour Polynesian performance. I bet they hated hearing "Aren't you cold?" all night. (Of course they were!) From their smiles and performance skills, you wouldn't know it. We definitely will be doing future parties at our venue, including luau themes. Our first call will be to Islander's Luau to check their pricing and availability. I'll hope they are available. Wow, Islanders Luau offers a fabulous service. They came to our children's ministry event and put on a show! Rex and Jasmine are terrific dancers. It was a beautiful display of culture and history and a little comedy. The dancers were pleasant and professional. They arrived on time and gave us a show to remember. All the children and even the adults that were there including all our volunteers thoroughly enjoyed the show. We cannot wait to have them back on our campus. During this season there have not been many places for us to take our children for fun. Island Luau performers gave us a much needed treat. We would definitely recommend anyone to give them a call for a great Polynesian experience. read more

I don't know where to start with this group. I go way back to the 90's when I used their mom to do these events for me at a building in Brentwood. When I was looking again and didn't see Susiana's name I inquired to find out this was mom. After using them for years in the 90's I have now used them twice for an apartment resident party and you get what you pay for! These guys are awesome. Food incredible! The pig ceremony and then the show are just amazing. I don't think anyone could believe how incredible they are and the party was. Always professional. Show up when they say they are going to show up. The entertainment the best. Something for everyone. Hula dancers, fire dancers and a trip through the islands. Truly something you and your guests will be talking about for a very long time. The last time I used them was 2016 and when we announced we were having them this year, I had people email me with photos from the last one. That is the impression they will make!! read more
