Did you know that, according to Inside Edition, 8 out of 10 Auto repair shops cut corners or will…read moreactually damage your car to get further work down the road?! When shopping for a trustworthy mechanic it can be nearly impossible unless it's a referral from someone you know, like and trust. Ricky Strickland aka (Stricklands) is not only trustworthy, he shows you the repairs done, explains what caused the damage, wear or tear and in addition to going beyond to alert you to any potential future issues, is direct and honest about the time it will take to complete it. A one man shop, he is always buried with work so you'll want to arrive at 7:30 am on days you visit to get his 1st come 1st serve service. His prices are moderate and fair. "Oh that'll run you about $800.00" is not something you'll ever hear at Stricklands. His no haggle pricing is not based on some notion off the top of his head but rather a national standard for labor provided by Texaco. He's not the cheapest in the Greater Valley, AL / West Point, GA area and he's not the most expensive. What he is, however is prompt and reliable and he stands behind his work. Stricklands has been in business for over 28 years. That alone tells you that he runs a clean business. Always slammed, Ricky wont have time to stop and chat about them Atlanta, Braves or War Eagles with you but you'll enjoy a very clean waiting area if you're going to sit and wait. Conveniently located on the famous Chatahoochee River, just a spec over a mile from Georgia's last exit south on the I-85 corridor, you can walk across the historic railroad tracks and visit a truly unique civil war era train station, enjoy multiple food establishments, go on a kayaking trip or just relax at the park directly across the river while you wait for your car or truck to be super tuned! and you will definitely leave confident your repair was exacted with expertise, thoroughness and precision. The only reason this shop cannot get 5 stars from me is due to the fact that with the overwhelming demand for time placed on a single mechanic, he is not able to deal with issues related to electrical problems. Here is what people in the area said about Strickland's Texaco. "Once you gone Stickland's he'll be your Mechanic for life." - J Freeman & Son, llc - Local business owner "I cannot recommend Ricky and his business highly enough. He's a good guy and does outstanding work...he has always treated me fair" - Jim Duncan
