I moved to Connecticut about 6 months ago and after two years of getting my Masters and a whole lot of sitting around, I knew I had to do something! I like nearby The Pilates Centre, read some reviews, and saw that they offered a free intro class. I had never done Pilates before (used to do Yoga quite a bit), but really wanted to try something new. Even though I felt intimidated by what I saw others doing and the machines in the room, I felt welcomed in and supported. After the trial session, I signed up for a 10 pack and haven't looked back. I am nearing session #22 with the owner, Jen, and have already seen changes in my body. I am sold on Pilates and will be remaining a loyal customer of The Pilates Centre. I always feel confident that Jen really knows what she is doing and is supportive of whatever stage I am in with my fitness. She has been incredibly motivational with getting my fitness back on track. I haven't tried any of the classes yet, but once I feel more confident I could see myself mixing class sessions in with the personal sessions. I highly recommend coming in for a trial session - you've got nothing to lose whether you are a beginner or an expert Pilates practitioner!

The locker room is always a mess, the floors are wet from people stepping into the sauna fully dressed and coming out dripping sweat. Young guys always taking photos in the locker room no matter how many times you bring it up with the management. The gym itself is usually very crowded by younger men who work out in groups of four or more. Many people sitting at machines using their phones and no one mentions anything to them. Crunch Gym has become dirty, poorly managed, and unreliable. The gym is advertised to open at 5:00 AM, but that rarely happens. Some days it opens at 5:10 or 5:20, and on January 2, 2026, it didn't open until 6:30 AM. Management is noticeably absent, and when members try to raise concerns, the response is dismissive--essentially "go somewhere else." Unfortunately, cancelling a Crunch membership is not nearly as easy as joining. Overall, this location shows a lack of care for cleanliness, accountability, and basic customer service.
