In that time, she was moved from one age bracket to another ( because they couldn't retain players from 2009 and the majority of the girls left), had her team broken up into two teams ( the white and orange teams, when one had a game, the other missed practice & had no game), then brought them back together only to have SEVEN girls leave the team. Roma lacks in communication and transparency. They lost their boys premier team because they couldn't retain those players either. They advertise that each team will receive 2 practices per week, however, our last 8 game season, had THREE weeks where they only had one practice for the week with no make-ups. They do have an indoor facility but since they started using the indoor facility for rec, travel teams rarely get to utilize the inside when there is inclement weather. They also advertise that they have a winter season, and they do, but you will be playing the same two teams over & over. If you are looking for a club where your child will grow and develop, your money will be better spent somewhere else!

They will take your rental fee, but they really don't want pickleball at their facility. The man on the court next to us, who I'm told is the Chesterton HS tennis coach, yelled at us, "Do not adjust the nets". I went back up to the net to put it back to it's original position and again he yelled, "Do not adjust the nets", I told him we were putting the next back to the original height. Again, he yelled, "Do not adjust the nets". If there is a rule that the nets cannot be adjusted for pickleball, that's fine, but it needs to be communicated by the staff at the time of the rental. Alternately, the man on the court next to us could have come over and said, "Ladies, you probably don't know this, but we don't adjust the nets here because of XYZ". Four 50-something year old women being repeatedly yelled on a court we rented at $45/hour was not a good experience. In the future, please let rentals know they are not allowed the adjust the net.

So when I saw that CGA offered an adult gymnastics class I was so excited to get back into it! I haven't found any other gymnastics gym that offers adult classes in Champaign so I think that's really special. I was able to regain many of the skills that I had when I was a kid in a fairly short period of time. Although I had previous gymnastics experience, it's not required. Some of my classmates were brand new to gymnastics and were able to get a lot out of the class as well. If you're looking to learn a new skill or just have fun I highly recommend CGA!
