The "Irish Town Bend project" is one of the most amazing things I've seen in Cleveland... and it's still got a long way to go.
If you go to Merwin's Wharf and gaze across the river you're looking at the Irishtown Bend Park project.
The massive construction you see is part of a $100 million transformation of that hillside. They recently finished the critical $65 million stabilization phase to keep the hill from sliding into the river, and now they're moving into the phase of building a 25-acre public park. It's designed to be a massive green space that will eventually connect the Cuyahoga Valley National Park all the way to Lake Erie.
Just a bit further down toward Tower City, there is also the Bedrock Riverfront development happening, which includes the new Cleveland Cavaliers training facility and a large outdoor amphitheater.
On a nice day you should visit Merwin's Wharf and just look. I guarantee you will be amazed. Those scope of this project is amazing. read more
