Perhaps this is due to it being cold outside already in October but it feels uncomfortable at first and then you just get used to it. They could use more air flow inside. I don't know how the staff can handle it. The beer selection is pretty great. The beers are all listed on the menu, from draft to bottled. I went with a friend who knew what to recommend. They have a house beer on tap too. The selection is especially good if there's a Belgian beer you've been meaning to try. I had beers here that I never heard of before. They have other drinks in case you don't want/like beer. They also have shots. The first time I came in, it was quite busy in the evening so we sat at a high top table by the bathroom. The second time was earlier on a Saturday evening so we sat at a table.

Oude Sluis is a beer pub. In former times they served a special German beer called Hannen Alt, which is brewed in Düsseldorf. Nowadays they have typical dutch stuff like Amstel at the tap. As we were there (4 sailing friends), a big-boobed girl was behind the counter. Serving beer in high speed. In front of the counter we found people of every age and nationality. A magician walked around and made strange tricks to the customers. We left at 3 in the mornig. This pub is definitely crazy, but we had a lot of fun there. Step in, if you stay at Lemmer.

It was really great how the waiters let us do our thing; and great service to. So we had a nice cup of tea, good red wine (house wine is a Tempranillo ) and the food is good value for money. We started on Wednesday by coming here, the stuffed portobello as well as the hachee was great (hear say) and I had the ravioli. For me it could do with less creamy sauce, but other than that - it was really nice. Thursday the salmon was recommended - so I tried this one. And it was indeed nice :) Friday, after a couple of real cold days they had "Snert" (green peas soup) which in my opinion was a bit too stuffed and firm to be a soup. But the flavours were great. And although it was a small bowl of soup. It is very filling And knitting in a grand cafe brings so much response from the other customers - real funny. I.e a man came to me saying he was coming in the cafe for years, but with us knitting there it somehow felt more cosy All and all it is a nice place, nice people, good location (2 minutes walk from central station) and the food is good value for money.
