It's more than just a gin bar--it's an immersive experience, guided by a true artist of her craft. The woman who runs this place is nothing short of magical, a mind reader who curates each drink as if she's known your preferences for years. Her ability to craft the perfect gin-based drink, tailored precisely to your mood and taste, transcends the typical bar experience--it's personal, intuitive, and absolutely extraordinary. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was intimate and refined, with the perfect balance of sophistication and warmth. The bar itself is beautifully designed, with a top-notch selection of gins from around the world. But what truly sets it apart is the owner's sixth sense for knowing exactly what you need in the moment. She created one of the most exceptional, personal experiences of my life, and I don't say that lightly. Her right-hand person, the assistant, was equally impressive, ensuring that every detail of the experience was flawless. Together, they make an unbeatable team, delivering service that's not just attentive but intuitive. The cocktails themselves were masterpieces--complex, balanced, and unlike anything I've ever tasted. I've been to countless bars in my travels, but this one easily tops the list. It's the kind of place you should go out of your way to visit, even if Trento isn't already on your itinerary. If you love gin--or even if you don't--you'll leave this bar with a newfound appreciation for the craft. Quite literally, it was the best bar experience I've ever had, and it's a place I'll remember for the rest of my life. Rating: 5/5 - Exceptional.

I did not have a reservation and although hesitant, they offered a seat at the shared table when they open in about 20 minutes. I walked around and came back although I thought it was a bit odd that I couldn't sit earlier and have a drink at the bar (likely just a difference between IT and US). Super cozy with a huge wine selection. I loved the unique magazine menu and opted for the tasting menu. The first course was Homemade Russian Salad with local steamed crab followed by Borlotti Beans Voloute with local mussels and baby scallops ragout and finally grilled local mullet steak with artichokes bottom and anchovies and garlic sauce for the main entree. Dessert was Hazelnut Semifreddo (GF) with whipped cream and red berries sauce. All of the food was delicious and perfectly prepared. The seafood was fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend the Hazelnut over the Tiramisu as it was superb and more reflective of the local cuisine. What was interesting to me is that the restaurant turned away several parties due to being fully booked but had seating at my shared table and a few seats at the bar. They were slightly pretentious and you could tell they were more interested in you if you were dressed a bit better, were interested in the wine, and weren't going to be obnoxious tourists. So if you choose to come here, play the part of a good patron. Would definitely come back for the food, but moreso, it's clearly got an amazing wine selection for those who are more interested there.

Excellent service, thoughtful presentation, and high-quality cooking make Estro a strong recommendation while in Venice. General Info: Just a short walk from the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, Estro - Vino e Cucina is a warm, inviting wine bar and restaurant offering modern Mediterranean dishes rooted in Venetian tradition. Run by brothers Alberto and Dario Spezzamonte, it combines relaxed hospitality with refined cooking and a serious dedication to natural wines (over 600 labels from sustainable producers). The intimate space seats no more than 30 guests and has a rustic yet polished charm, with walls lined with wine bottles and thoughtful design touches throughout. Murano glassware and artful plating elevate the aesthetic without feeling pretentious. Service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable from start to finish; I felt well taken care of without being rushed. Food: Every dish I had was flavorful, well-executed, and presented with care. The warm sourdough bread was a great start. A raw fish starter of the day featured pristine oysters, perfectly cooked prawns, and delicious tuna, all paired thoughtfully with radish and lettuce for texture and balance. I also sampled starters from other members of my party: a traditional Venetian antipasto (with baccalà mantecato, grilled octopus, and scampi in saor) and a rich poached egg with asparagus and goat cheese foam. The latter was especially indulgent and well-balanced. I got the bigoli in salsa, which was a standout: the noodles had a perfect bite, and the anchovy sauce was creamy, salty, and deeply satisfying. Another member of my party got the pea risotto, which was just as strong, creamy, fresh, and well-seasoned. My main dish, the pan-seared amberjack, came with crispy skin, tender flesh, and a rich, creamy garlic and anchovies sauce that tied it all together beautifully. For dessert, I ordered the tiramisú, which was expertly executed and pleasantly light, though I didn't quite catch the boozy note that was supposed to be in it. Overall, the food more than justified the price (about €20 for starters and €30 for mains), and the presentation far surpassed expectations at this level. Overall Thoughts: Estro is a very solid restaurant. It hits all the key notes: seasonal, skillfully cooked food; a fantastic wine list; beautiful presentation; and genuinely good service. The attention to detail, like Murano glassware and artful plating, adds a special touch without trying too hard. I reserve five stars for truly life-changing meals, but Estro came close. If you're in Venice and want a modern, thoughtful take on local cuisine, this should absolutely be on your list.
