Super little DIY shop with incredibly helpful staff, so much better than the likes of B&Q, cheaper as well for better quality. The message has to be use it or lose it. A grand local independent retailer. read more

This shop is quite a find. The owner either has it or will order it for you, and even recommends…read moreother places where you may get it more quickly. Nothing which I have bought there has broken the bank, often being cheaper than I expected. As WhyBelieve said, it's a boon having it in the Town center. Their hardware is better than the other supposed Hardware shop in town, and it is frequented by people from the trade, which is always reasuring. It always helps that the owner is always pleasant, even on a bad day.

Going into this store is a bit like a step back in time but the owner is great and most helpful and stocks such a lot of useful things and all at a reasonable price. The shop is in town which is very useful if you are wanting to just pop in and get something while you are visiting other shops in town. If he doesn't have what you want he can order things for you. He is great for advice and tips to about what would be best to use for a project if you are a little stuck.

I`ve bought a few things from here, screwdrivers, decorating supplies, door latches and most recently, a crock pot for cooking! Great prices too - their storage jars are cheaper than Sainsburys! We are very lucky to have this shop in our small town as it is packed to the rafters with all kinds…read moreof useful items. It's really two shops in one, as half is devoted to DIY and hardware with the other side being a well-stocked pet shop. There is a huge range of products and it's a rare occasion when they haven't had the item I needed, or haven't been able to offer an alternative. Whether it's a watering can or a toy for your budgerigar, it's all here! The staff are lovely people, real local characters, and if you take your dog into the pet 'department' it will be spoiled rotten and will for ever after try to drag you into the shop if you are passing by!
