We came right before her xmas break and was more than pleased. This place is extremely kid-friendly and high tech. The staff was in the holiday spirit and were dressed up with crazy xmas sweaters and pajamas on. This place is a breath of fresh air. The staff was great and my daughter was at ease. Papandreas has numerous incentive programs that encourages good oral hygiene. They offer convenient options if your child needs an adjustment by coming to your child's school for a quick touch up if needed. It is obvious the staff cares and the money that the client spends on braces or other services is put back into their business. We're talking state of the art equipment and even iPads to entertain the kids while they're waiting. The orthodontist was amazing and answered any and all questions we had. The staff also made sure we left feeling completely satisfied with our decision and made sure we left with all of our questions and concerns fully addressed. I've never felt so welcome at an orthodontist's office before, much better than the place I went to when I was a kid. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place and if you are considering braces for your child or yourself, check it out. My daughter is looking forward to her next appointment so she can choose a new set of colorful bands to go on her braces. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next time. Before making an appointment with papandreas Orthodontics, I called specifically to ask if they accepted my Humana insurance. The woman on the phone told me, very cheerfully, that yes, they accepted it. I trusted what I was told and made the appointment. I then drove TWO HOURS to get there. When I finally arrived, I couldn't even easily find the office because the building is incredibly crowded and confusing, with nail salons, restaurants, and multiple businesses all around the same area. After finally finding the orthodontist, I was given paperwork to fill out. While I was filling it out, the same woman I had spoken to on the phone looked at my insurance card and suddenly said, "Oh, this is Humana. We don't take that here." Excuse me?! I literally called beforehand and specifically asked if you accepted Humana. I even asked her if she was the person I had spoken to on the phone, and she said yes. I reminded her that I had asked about my insurance before driving all the way there, and she basically told me that she thought they accepted it. That is absolutely ridiculous. Why tell someone you accept their insurance when you don't? If there was any uncertainty about my insurance, I should have been told that BEFORE I made the appointment and drove two hours. I wasted four hours of driving time round trip, plus gas, because I was given incorrect information over the phone. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating, and I definitely would not recommend this office based on how my situation was handled. Please double-check your insurance before making the trip, because apparently being told over the phone that they accept it isn't enough.

The staff there were very friendly and explained every thing they were doing to him. Our first appointment was a scan and meeting with Dr. White to go over the treatment phase. He was very personable and nice. Afterwards another staff member explained pricing and financing options. There was absolutely no pressure to sign up at that very instant, and that's what I think I love the most. They understand it is a big commitment, and sometimes families need to weight options. We went ahead and signed up that day, signed some papers and went on our way. They said it would take about 8 weeks to get his first treatment round in, but it only ended up taking about 4-5. He went in once everything was in and they fit him in his first set (along with some other stuff placed on. We are now being monitored ever week remotely and it is working out great. I was advised I would be there for 2 hours and it would be $349.00 all of which I agreed... everything was/seemed fine I did everything they wanted was there for two hours BUT NEVER had my teeth cleaned.... I had X-rays, spoke to Dr Maze all without an issue but still no teeth cleaning!!! i was then told to pay the $349.00 fee but still received no dental cleaning.... Was NEVER given a reason my teeth were not cleaned etc.. I was then given paperwork stating I needed to come back to have my teeth "deep cleaned" for an additional $1,500.. and I need to be on a 3 month cleaning schedule, have all my fillings redone and even tho I made the comment "at least I don't have any new cavities" (trying to be funny looking at the bright side). I was then told by Dr Maze that I have possible 5 more cavities they never told me about or showed me a picture of.... I was only given the option of Botox injections for TMJ not an actual night guard and no price was ever discussed for anything!!! At NO POINT during this appt was I told I would NOT be having my teeth cleaned! Never given the option of "care credit" to help with paying bills etc.. the only option I was given is we have an opening next Tuesday for a cleaning which would cost an additional $1,500... I then paid the $349 and told them I would think about the appt over the holiday weekend... I was uncomfortable enough NOT to make the next appt but honestly at the time wasn't sure why? So taking time to reflect on the appt and ponder making the decision this is what I have come to figure out... It was more than obvious that because I had NO INSURANCE my appt was made in error as they PREFER not to deal with people without insurance.... It's so unfortunate as up till the point of checkout and realizing no dental cleaning would be done everything was very accommodating and friendly... in fact as long as you "go along with their nickle and dimeing everything is fine". But the minute you question something they are no longer accommodating or nice! Why would I as a patient with NO INSURANCE pay $349 to a dentist to only have X-rays and talk to the DR? Only to have to go to a different dentist with NO INSURANCE to PAY AGAIN to have my teeth cleaned! The whole point of this appt was for the teeth cleaning!!! Now I have to do the same thing at another dentists office!!! A complete waste of my money and time I did not need to do because they were not honest and up front!! BEWARE..... they are over accommodating and nice on the outside but make sure you ask questions and get clarifications cuz "I feel this dentist/office personnel will definitely take advantage of you!" Given the chance.. I feel like I dodged a bullet and will not be back!!! IMO they prefer to deal with insurance companies because they make more money... then try to take advantage of patients who don't have insurance.... its so UNFORTUNATE that because I'm UNINSURED I am treated differently, my "out of pocket payment" is not good enough because it's not nearly enough money compared to what is paid by an insurance company!!! a small understanding why healthcare costs are outrageous in the United States and normal people get over looked... Maze also has an interest in the effect of dental health on medical health especially heart disease, and as a physician, I appreciate this. she also sits and talks to me like I am a member of the family, and it is a nice personal experience to go there.
