The doctor removed the good filling and replaced it, and now my husband has pain in that tooth. When my husband called for a follow-up appointment, they said nothing was available for a month, but when his friend called, they gave him an appointment right away. I felt a moral obligation to share my experience…read more While dealing with a severe, throbbing toothache, and 2 visits over 2 weekends for cleaning and fillings, the clinic claimed they submitted a prior authorization request for me for a root canal. I waited for 2 weeks and finally called my insurance company directly, and they confirmed they never received anything from this office , and I also don't see any update on my insurance app, and UHC ask me to call this clinic again to confirm and the receptionist immediately told me oh the request is denied. Because I was in extreme pain for a couple of days over the weekend and needed to go to urgent care immediately on a Monday morning, I repeatedly verified my email address with the receptionist so the doctor could send over my X-rays and referral, so I don't have to do the second time x-ray within a such short time for health purpose. The doctor and the receptionist kept lying, claiming it was sent, and actually had the audacity to scream at me over the phone, and I still have received absolutely nothing. I even noticed they have a sign posted on the wall telling patients to pay to get their own X-ray results when I was getting treatment in the clinic. Why do they claim that they sent over the results to the insurance company and me and we all just never receive it. What are the reasons behind this. When I ended up not receiving my results from them and had to get a new one done another dentist told me he doesn't see an infection on the roots on my teeth that's hurting and used different treatment to keep my nerve and teeth and it is not hurting anymore. I also observed they make people have long wait times but very rushed procedures. The doctor spent minimal time on my dental cleaning and filling and showed extreme impatience when I had to ask her multiple times to adjust my bite correctly. Even I left there for couple days my eating and biting still feel very uncomfortable. They left a patient in agonizing pain stranded without their medical records while being verbally aggressive and impatient treatments. Extremely unethical. please avoid at all cost.

After every cleaning and every cavity filled, I just couldn't take it anymore, and I guess I went on a long hiatus. Then I figure I'm nearly turning 30. It's time to shape up and see a dentist finally. I might have been a walk-in. I recall telling Dr. Malafis that I had not seen a dentist in over six years. He remarks, "Well you're young, you're probably fine don't worry about it." Feeling comfortable, I also remarked that I don't floss, mentioning that the sight of blood freaks me out. He goes into the science of why that happens in the first place. He tells me this without any sort of judgment or motive. He says, "I can't force you to do something you don't wanna do." For whatever reason, his sense of humor and relaxed attitude just put me at ease. About 3 years later and I'm still seeing Dr. Malafis, I'm also now armed with a Sonicare toothbrush and a bunch of CVS branded disposable floss picks. Cleanings are quick and easy. X-rays are as pleasant as they'll get without gagging. You can't even tell the Novocaine shots are happening if you close your eyes. The assistants/hygienists are very friendly. Facilities are clean and booking appointments are easy and text message reminders are helpful. I've never really had much of a wait booking late appointments on a weeknight or during the day on a weekday. Overall Dr. Malafis is just one chill, professional dude who knows what he's doing, and willing to help you with whatever you need without ever being pushy.
