Mary Anne and Alex are both great. So welcoming, friendly and Alex really does know his dance moves. I am looking forward to continuing to build upon my skills here with them and have a great time doing it. If you are a beginner...no fear. They meet you where you are at as far as skill level goes. However, if you would kindly refer to your email confirmation, it states our late arrival policy: Please arrive as early as 15 minutes prior to your scheduled class to check in. We will not be able to delay the start of class for late arrivals. Any missed visits will go against your current class package. The instructor, myself, and several other students were there. I personally waited 5-10 minutes after the class started to wait for you as Sheila had a responsibility to begin class on time for the other attendees. After waiting, I then locked the doors to join class as I had intended to participate as a student. The doors must be locked for the safety and security of the clients, instructors, and the building. A grace cancellation credit has been added to your account as a one-time courtesy. All class packages are non-refundable, except in the case of illness or injury with documentation from your doctor. My daughter also had her birthday party party here and loved it. They teach all ages in the building and it is super fun to see the students practicing. Right away the experience felt different from other theater performances - a smaller venue at The Brown Theatre, guests with elevated attire, robust programs, different performers for the matinee versus evening show. Louisville has a longstanding ballet group. Recently a new artistic director has joined the team - a Kentucky native. His time on the stage plus the program details were a nice intro. Thankfully I knew the story of Dracula, but wished I'd have read the program prior to the production. It provided summaries of each scene. Comparing what I'd watched plus the dancing was a beautiful match. Follow their social media to learn about upcoming shows and see practice sessions. Yearly subscriptions are also available for its biggest fans. Great experience to enjoy or gift to give. Parking available in downtown garages or meters. The Louisville Ballet performs at the Brown Theatre, which is intimate (and more cramped) compared to other spaces.

I signed up for the Louisville Ballet newsletter, and when I saw the choreographer's showcase coming up I thought this would be an awesome event where the choreographers and dancers wouldn't be limited to predetermined elements in their performances. The event exceeded my expectations! Everything, from the dancers, to the music, to the lighting, to the costumes, was so thoughtful. We really loved seeing what these artists could do when unbound. I hope to attend many more performances and continue to support the arts, really what makes life worth it. Highly recommend!

Louisville Cotillion is an old Louisville Tradition! I…read moreattended Louisville Cotillion when it was at the St. Matthews Women's Club, but now the same leadership has cotillion at the the Lebanese American Country Club. Back in the 5th and 6th grade, I did not truly appreciate the foundation that cotillion was laying, but by the time I got into high school and college, I REALLY appreciated that I knew how to dance. One of the brilliant things about cotillion is the timing- they teach kids the basics of dancing when its still fun and before social anxiety/awkwardness really set in. Another great thing about LC is that they kept it lighthearted - the instructors always made it fun and not stuffy. I guess my review is kind of a thank you note to the place that made dancing fun for me, but, that's exactly what it did :)
