Do not go here. The teachers/owners are good at what they do but so strict. My daughter went here…read morefor over a year and never did they speak to me about her behavior and then she had one hard day and they kicked her out. She is a 7 year old with ADHD and this was something she looked forward to every week. I watched her each week thrive there. I agree there should be consequences and am happy for her to sit out of class when asked. This was her first time and they emailed me and told me she was no longer welcome. They wouldn't speak to me over the phone about it. My daughter is now going to internalize their rejection with zero warnings. These are children here. I would understand if monthly she was asked to sit out but this is not the case. We were completely blindsided. Please do not use this business.

It is a TRAVESTY that there aren't a million 5 star reviews of this place. Very proud to be the…read morefirst. I've only been coming here for a few weeks at this point, but as a complete beginner I couldn't be having a better time. The website advertises "no egos" which is on point. The moment I walked through the door for the first time, one of the students comes over to say hi and introduce himself because he hasn't seen me before. Everyone I've worked with so far has been really cool and the more experienced guys will take things slow and easy and even let me pull off moves on them so I can get the feel for how it's supposed to work. Don't get me wrong, every class is a challenge both physically and mentally - but it's the kind of environment where you feel comfortable really pushing yourself. The great culture starts at the top with Owner/Professor Danny Morera and Co-Owner (slash Danny's wife) Angela. Just great people - knowledgeable, welcoming, helpful, friendly, and fun. There's always a lot of smiles and laughs, but when it's instruction time, they're appropriately serious and focused on making sure people learn the techniques safely and properly. If you're interested in learning jiu-jitsu, the advice I got from some experienced friends was to opt for a school led by an IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation) certified black belt, and registered with the IBJJF (you can look people and schools up on their website). There are a lot of places that would be happy to teach you "jiu-jitsu", but if you're going to put in the time and spend the money you probably want to do it right.

I'm going to try to be as respectful as possible but I don't know if I can so here goes.. My name…read moreis Kevin and 3 years ago I had the unfortunate diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and was just informed by a friend what you think of cancer patients.. Let me say this.. I never asked for a " pity party" through the whole two years of my treatment.. Over the two years I saw people I thought I could count on disappear because I wasn't " fun" anymore.. Threw up countless times, got so weak I couldn't stand, and almost died once.. But I never complained once.. Sure I vented but I knew my family was suffering as well and tried to act happy.. I lost my hair went all the way down to 135 lbs and needed a tube implanted in my chest so my veins wouldn't collapse from the over 200 bags of chemo I received.. Besides that i received over 30 spinal taps 15 bone marrow biopsies and 2 weeks of brain radiation.. Why do I bring this up here goes.. Because of all the steroids I was on I became fat.. 215 lbs about.. But did I give up? No! I trained every day hard for about a year. I now have avascular necrosis in both of my hips can barely walk and need two hip transplants from the steroids I needed.. Do I cry? No! I trained what I could mostly upper body.. Now I curl 100 lbs do pull ups with 40 lb chains on my back and bench 245 about 7 times.. I litteraly had to go from ground zero and build myself back up.. But I did because I am a survivor.. I don't ask for pitty.. I get off on people telling me I can't do things... So when I heard what you had to say about our " pity parties" it made me sick.. Spend a day in the shoes I did and recover as much as I did then I will give a **** about one of your opinions.. Until then I encourage you to go tell a 7 year old hooked up to numerous iv's on his death bed that you're sick of his " pity party". Unless you're man enough to grow a pair and say it to our faces keep your opinions to yourself and go about your daily business.. You sir are the worst person I have ever heard of good day. P.S. Do you think it's smart trashing people that could become potential clients? Many of us survivors get trainers so they can get back into shape.. I know I did.
