This place is awful. Each building is run by a different owner and dealing with our "landlord" Invesco LLC has been a trial, to say the least. They are disrespectful and lazy, not to mention incredibly condescending. Maintenance: I don't even know where to begin, so you will receive subsections. When we finally were able to contact a maintenance man to come out here to deal with our laundry list of problems, he literally laughed in my face and fixed none of them. It was insulting. My only comfort was knowing that soon enough we will be moving out of this awful place and he will probably die here, working with this dreadful company in this ferociously disgusting apartment building. [Bathroom] After initially moving in we asked Invesco to fix the rusted out bathroom sink. They painted over it. Yes. They painted over rust stains. Talk about a classy place. The toilet rarely flushes completely. The water pressure is stronger in the kitchen sink then it is in the shower. It will also have BURSTS of SCALDING water during the middle of your "pleasant" shower with the water pressure of nothing more than a garden hose. [Living Room & Bedroom] You will receive ONE (1) 30+ year old wall/window air conditioning unit for the entirety of your 700+ square foot apartment. That equates to scalding hot summers. There is uneven floor boards that shoddily carpeted over. Speaking of their carpeting, it is incredibly cheap that will shed for months. The bedrooms receive constant sunlight and since the air conditioner is approximately 2 miles away, you will never feel the cool stuttering shaking "breeze" of their "glorious air conditioning". [Balcony] It can only hold two people at a time, and if I were you I would not have more than a small child out there. It's shaky and scary and was probably made by a one-armed handyman that learned his tricks from half watched episodes of Bob Villa from 20 years ago. [Kitchen] The cabinets are warped, old, improperly installed, stained, creaky, and still shedding shards of wood from initial installation. The lovely amenities includes their appliances which are 15-20+ years old They simply don't work. The oven temperature fluctuates and the dishwasher has always been broken and they refuse to fix it. It is currently a place where still water sits stagnant gradually accumulating bacteria for the mold farm that Invesco apparently wants to own. [Stairwells] Dingy, dark, musty, no air-flow, poorly constructed it will be AWFUL to move into unless you live on the first floor. The front door to the building does not always close, which supplies you with warm thoughts of inevitable shankings. On the other hand, when it is closed it is frustrating to open it, and sometimes impossible and infuriating, because the lock and door jam are both in and have been in incredible and awful disrepair since the day we moved in. We mentioned it to "INVESCO" several times but they simply ignore us. And to top it all off, the cell phone reception is simply awful. Rarely did a phone call ever make it to the end of the call. Every single call would inevitably be dropped - and this was done on several different providers: T-Mobile, Verizon, as well as Sprint. You should also be made aware that there are children constantly running around at all times of the day in the parking lots trying to play real life versions of Grand Theft Auto -- tempting you to slam into their bodies that weave in and out of the cars for points. There is a positive though. I hate to say this but it is a great price. For the area it is not the safest, but remember, you are paying for what you get. So buyer beware. read more

To be frank, the company does not care at all for their tenants. Mold in a newborn's room? The office's suggestion was to close the closet or cover it up. Air conditioner broken in 90+ degree weather? The office's suggestion was to turn on a fan. The electricity is out in two rooms? (One of which has a defibrillator plugged in to breathe for an individual with sleep apnea) The office's response was "did you pay your electric?" -- as if I only paid for half of the apartment. The entire management office and Patrice, the rude and incessantly ignorant manager in charge, are insensitive to the needs of any human being. Their responses to their tenants are condescending and worthless. Fortunately, the other tenants in the building happen to work together to help each other out when things go awry. The apartments are inexpensive for a reason. But if you need a place to stay for about a year or less until you can get something better, their properties are not bad. read more

This is the worst agency in the world. I really do not understand how they still in business. Patricia is offensively, ill-mannered and discourteous. Lizeth, who always answer the phone, does not know about anything, she never never has an good answer, and her favorite words are "I do not know". Also it is imposible to get an answer from anyone there. I completely regret renting with them. I wish I have never found this place. I am still waiting after one month for the maintenance person to fix the stairs light, the stairs are complety dark, dangerous and unsafe. Additionally, I have a insect problem because the windows have gaps and they refuse to resolve it, this is being a real nightmare for me, I have insects flying all around the place. If you read this please DO NOT rent with them. The customer service is horrible. My experience with this people so far is just awful. read more

I lost thousands of dollars in Invesco in the 1990's and so did a relative who had a hot "investment tip." I learned my lesson!

Called and spoke to Emily (client services) and Kevin (Client services supervisor) both who were absolutely no help. Normally when you speak with a representative they are willing to help but Emily seemed to be having bad day. Once I requested to speak to Kevin it was as if Emily had begged him to ensure he not help me. Being a manager for a large well known company I know better and ALWAYS ensure I turn the interaction around to make our customers happy. Seems as if Emily and Kevin could take a course in customer service. read more

They changed their name to Preferred Apartment Rentals, most likely to distance themselves from the Invesco name, seeing as it has the same reputation as sugar free gummy bears. This was, by far, the worst apartment I have ever lived at, and I've lived in some doozies. Where to begin. The bathtub had black mold coming out of it. Ziggy, the maintenance guy, said it was soap scum, blamed us for not being clean enough, and put sealant over it. Guess what, it came back. Cause it's black mold. The apartment had a basement. The moldy tub started leaking water into the basement, through a hole in the ceiling that was covered in black spots. I showed Ziggy, who said "wow, we really need to fix that, take out the whole tub, thats really dangerous." It was never done. We tried to follow up but Ziggy never stepped foot in there again. They were probably just waiting for us to move. Speaking of the bathroom, the frame around the bathroom door started leaking. When we told them about it, Ziggy said the guy above us had a bidet, for religious purposes. They told him to stop using it. So the leak was actually coming straight from a mans butt-hole, and they did nothing to fix it or clean it, just told him to stop using it. There is poop in the cracks of this apartment. The back sliding door started heavily leaking almost as soon as we moved in. When it rains, you have to put out buckets. They finally tried to fixed it, since the back door and wall started to turn from white to brown after a year. It still leaks, so there is still water damage. Ziggy said, and I quote, "If that thing leaks, I quit." Welp... The back stoop has a bee infestation. They started to find their way into the laundry room, which is also full of black mold, and made it impossible to go out back. Ziggy sprayed for them, but they were still around right before winter. I'm sure theyll be back by the time it gets hot out again. The front door, one to get into the complex, has no trim and has exposed wires coming out the sides. The buzzer was malfunctioning so thats how Ziggy decided to fix it, tear out the trim, cut the wires, and leave them for over a year, through winter, with kids in the building. How is this place still in business. I can't complain about the people who lived around us, they were all fine. All issues with this place were with the fact that the company wouldn't fix anything outside of small electrical problems. When they would fix a major issue, it was done wrong and the problems would persist. While moving everything out of the basement, my throat closed up. I'm not sure what I was breathing in down there, but it can't be good. When I dropped off the keys and decided to air my grievances to the office, Patrice, the tanning bed with eyeballs, asked me, "why didn't you move out earlier?" Ive never been asked that by a leasing office. She turned it into, "you should have let us know" (even though we did and they don't keep records to cover their asses) and "you should have moved out." Because it is not their fault, it is ours, for signing with this dump in the first place. The leasing office is rude and horrible. It will take months for anything to get done, lose paperwork, claim ignorance, say you never called them about things, avoid phone calls. I don't want anyone reading this to have to go through this with these people, avoid at all cost. They said I would get my deposit back, but I'm not holding my breath. I guess it is a life lesson. When your apartment complex has nothing but one star reviews, don't live there. I'm just glad to be out, in a place with 24/7 maintenance, no goose poop (I didn't even get to the geese, there are geese EVERYWHERE) and a pool (the pool at the Invesco building was never opened. It's there, they said they would open it, it never was. I wouldn't want to swim in that anyway, could you imagine?) My time renting from Invesco was a nightmare. I literally could not wait to write this. read more

RENTERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We moved into a invesco apartment almost a year ago. When we moved into the apartment there were ants in our apartment we called the office and they gave us ant traps and said to try for a week and we did and the ants were still there. We called the office again and again at least 7 times and kept on getting nowhere. So we had to call Orkin to so we can get rid if the ants, we asked inveso can you reimburse us they told us NO. We received a sheet to fill out about anything wrong with the apartment and there was a lot of things wrong with the apartment. We are still waiting for the things to be fixed. Our apartment has been without a dryer for over 5 months. We have called the office for over 5 months and asked when is the dryer is going to be fixed and they told us they have a separate company that deals with the washer and dryer, i asked call them up and get the dam thing fixed no action has been taken still broke. All I have to say is i cant wait to get out of this awful apartment and get the hell away from this company. Don't waste your time calling the office because nothing will be done. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY YOU WILL REGRET LIVING IN AN INVESCO APARTMENT YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY. read more

Invesco LLC management company is terrible!! They rent apartments throughout the chicagoland area. Maintenance can take several calls, then they show up without an appointment and let themselves in. Any questions concerning rent or leases must be faxed or mailed. We were great worry-free tenents while living there for a couple years. I've lived in apartments before and always gotten my deposit back. Here, when you finally do move out, don't expect your security deposit back. Even if you follow their rules and have it professionally cleaned (per lease agreement) you will still lose it. It's never "professional enough". My opinion: Enjoy living there, fix anything that breaks yourself, and when you move leave the place a mess and call it a night. You'll feel better not having wasted your own money to have carpets cleaned or hours on your back scrubbing. read more

Great Location, Great people 2 work with! INVESCO is a great rental agency 2 work with. The staff is very friendly. When I had my baby they came over 2 c the baby. They have a very friendly staff. I lived in Invesco's Mission Creek community from March of 2007 until August of 2011. The experience overall can be called 'homey'. The complex is in a nice and safe area in Palatine. It is next to the library and other residential zoning. It has nice trees, lawns, and a pool. The complex is actually surrounded on three sides by park and trail. The Palatine nature trail runs right past it. I can fondly recall many times when I exited the community through the brush bordering it, down a little slope, and across a pleasant stream. I then went for a nice jog on the Palatine nature trail, often ending up in the nearby nature preserve. On fourth of July I would walk a half block to the best view of the fireworks, which are launched from the park closeby. The building is a little old, and these are not luxury apartments. However, they are decently maintained, clean as far as apartments go, safe, and affordable. My privacy as a resident was respected, and had no problems at all with my neighbors. Another poster here complained about her AC unit. Mine was very old as well, but it worked and kept the place cool. Eventually it gave me problems and when a couple attempts by a professional (promptly summoned upon telling Patrice at Invesco) failed they replaced the unit with a brand new one. The kitchen was spacious as far as apartments go, and it was nice to have an apartment that has windows on both sides of the building, as well as two exits, which is more like a real home. As I said, the apartments are not brand new, but are in good condition for their age. In the NorthWest suburbs of Chicago it is hard to find a place that is not a hovel at the rates Invesco charged me. In four years of living there my rent only went up once, and a pittance of an amount, at that. They also have some discounts and incentives for prompt rent payment. Overall, I recommend the Mission Creek apartments for anyone looking for a modest, homey place to stay. He should not expect luxury living, but a good rental price without feeling like he's stepped below middle class living. read more

They lie about when service is scheduled. Funny thing is, when it comes time to renew your lease, well then they are all over that. They are complete jerks. Terrible just terrible! Everything is always broken and they take weeks to come fix it and when the maintenance people come they don't even knock they just come right in once I was sleeping and another time I was walking out of the shower and when I asked the leasing office to please give me a call when maintenance was on their way they said they were not going to do that because it took to much time out of their day!! I've lived in different apt complex and I have never met people so unprofessional. I had to call the village inspector to come and inspect my apt and he made a huge deal and went down to the leasing office because my apt was way to hot for living conditions and they wouldn't come and turn off my heater, he threatened them with shutting down the whole building and then they finally sent maintenance over to shut it off. I had to sleep in a hotel one night because it was way to hot and we have a 6 year old and it was unbearable. People stay away from this leasing agency. They're all awful and when you call to speak to the manager patrice she's always on "break" or in a "meeting " never returns your calls either! We had to drive down there and wait for her to be available and that old lady is just plain nasty. I'm so glad my lease was terminated early because we hated those 6 months we were there. The price is good for their apt but it is not worth it. Terrible experience! read more

This place is absolutely horrible!!!! Even though they are cheap. U get what you get what you pay for this place is absolutely horrendous they never fixed anything. I was 9 months pregnant in the middle of 90 degree weather living on a third floor with no air conditioning and it took about 3 weeks for them to fix the air conditioner even though we notify them of the problem 3 months earlier. The carpeting sheaded for months ..we had of squirrels that came in through the roof into our cabinets and they'd never really even fixed that .the neighborhood was horrendous I was afraid I was going to get shot or stabbed or Robbed .there was constantly gang police driving around. Ive call the police numerous times people breaking and entering cars .also got my neighbors there is constantly loud music being played when I filed a complaint with Invesco they stated that if they sent the other tenants notifications to expect some sort of retribution from the neighbor that we filed the complaint about which we did, our car was damaged and keyed. Please do not move into this place. I would not want anyone to go through the horrible ordeal we went through. read more

now i have been on home 02 12x so look at the reveiws, black mold?? at last apt. after 12yrs called dept. of health have my copy still here lol..that is started my health issues re: 02 tanks/nebulizer machine and 3 inhallers.there apparently looking at the reviews sometimes the power is gone/we have to constantly reboot the circuit breaker but if i call 911 the door bell does not work for the 2nd time for my more than 8 months/now amazon started taking pictures of where my packages are so i can track them down (one was in the bushes, but amazon got tired of me and sent me a picture of a package underneath the bush!!! ..so if the power goes out here and my big sometimes when i get out the hospital..need oxygen contrator which obviously needs power source....get it???like electricity..but forget the ambulance they can not get to me either..doorbell does not work.... one lady wrote a reveiw re: no power in 1 room..you got kids answering the phone...they told her believe it not call com-ed..w/com-ed you got electricity or not..so just like my husband did, we had to get a new light switch and rewire it..also the next apt. make sure their is at least a ceiling light bedroom/livingroom...we have 6 lamps here..we do not need 6 lamps the only light on the ceiling is in the kitchen and i am not going to buy lamps for that... also, check the 2 class action lawsuit...1 is so stupid, i was laughing just reading about it..(7 classes in law in college)they kept the security deposit, sent letter months after to new address (they already had their new apt and the agent is saving one for us,(he wants us in asap)so just like last year with us 2 months prior to end of lease start looking..now they already told them they were not going to renew the lease, but since their english was poor, not their 1st language they wanted them to pay the other 2 months, already in their new apt, then sent letter re:light bulbs/shampooing carpet for whenever they get the next tenant and beleive it or not batteries for the smoke alarm etc/etc/etc..for a grand total of over $1600.oo plus the $1200 plus they kept for security deposit...now let me tell everybody they are most 90+% hispanic here so they just want to leave but these idiots followed these people to their new apt, along with god knows how many hispanics that is why their is a class action law suit because she is representing (and most of the tenants are hispanic..so this creepy company just tells them sign this..then tell them they will ruin their credit/guess what they got everybody (class action law suit) and this is heading to the courthouse downtown chicago..civil rights violation..i am currently under treatment for breast cancer and they want me to keep calling ups to find my packages,i am on disability that is also a federal violation..civil rights..so i am going to join the class action (black/disabled) so out the 3 catagories i cover 2 sorry i am laughing as i write this..my husband is phillino..but the new apt. is already for us..by e-mail.the contacted us 3x..will call this week, we got till dec 31st plenty of time..they raised the rent just after the 1st yr was up for the 2nd lease by $45..now my husband has been at the same company for over 15th yrs and collecting social security from the same job and when there is overtime he is going for that to..now for a 1 bedroom with 2 people in there 50+ and 60+ and income 70k and excellent credit i told them keep the deposit, but i am not going to shampoo the carpet for the next tenant that is what the bldg owners give them money for,, one of the landlords owns 3 bldgs here and one next to the one in des plaines where we were at..i met him when he sold the 4th for big profit, when he found out what bldg we were in he told my husband "i have an apt for you) and were not here for even the full yr.. do not get me started about their so called investment company...that is a joke because one way or another your money is going to them for another scheme..to invest in one way or another..sorry guys but they have a law suit about that too 2nd lawsuit..... read more

If you think these folks are horrible to rent from let me say I worked for them. Apparently Mr. Keith Nyborg is the big cheese over there who thinks he knows everything. The three months I barely lasted there his chief responsibilities included trimming his finger nails daily, walking around in his socks, changing light bulbs, vacuuming and running to Sam's Club for cookies and candy. Oh...and shooting off his big ugly mouth which matches his ugly face. It was made clear to me by the "uppers" property management is last of their priorities. They are first and foremost investment advisers. Their bookkeeping department is a mess and that's being kind. Their software program is archaic...probably 25 years old. Don't expect any customer satisfaction. Go find some place else to rent. ALSO..go to the cookcountyrecord.com. Invesco had a class action lawsuit filed on them in 2018 by Mt. My apartment is nice, and so are the people at Invesco, I am sort of surprised at the venom and hostility demonstrated by the other reviewer... perhaps she was in a different complex than me? Anyways, I like the company and have enjoyed renting with them for over 3 years now at 2 different apartments. They may be slow to react to certain maintenance issues once in awhile, but think of all the jerks they probably deal with daily who don't pay rent or make loud noises bothering neighbors, etc. No complaints from me. read more

Great place to raise a family!! We have lived in Salem Walk Apts. for 6 yrs now and we love the place since it's ideal for families with kids. It's safe surroundings, spacious front yard, and of course an excellent school district just minutes away! We've had our share of maintenance issues in our place such as: leaking roof; clogged toilet & sink; etc. but they were all fixed satisfactorily. If only the Association could do something more for the pool maintenance so families could enjoy it more during the summer. Also, it would be nice to have a recyling program in the complex. Overall, I would still recommend it!! read more

The worst experience in my life. I complained for the window broken for 5 days in a row and no one came to fix it up. Also it is winter so all the rooms are so cold and they always say that someone will come and fix it up. You can't beat the price for the place but the parking is awful! I work late nights and when I get home there isn't parking at my building. Sometimes there isn't even parking on the street and I end up 2 blocks away..... FROM MY OWN PLACE!!!! They issued me a parking permit so why can't I use it? OHH, Get this..... One day I parked in a space next to the building and woke up to find my car had been towed... I called and they said "We never had an issues before.". Well guess what, YOU DO NOW!!!!! $170 later I demanded they issue assigned parking and they refused!! Then one day I checked each car and 4 cars were without the required permit for parking. So i called the number on the side of the building and the towing company told me I wasn't in a position to have cars towed!!!!! WHAT ??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! So I called InVesco the next day and was told they would go out and check the cars and put warnings before they towed..... Well guess what, I'm still parking down the street!!!!!! read more

This is a great apartment rental company! When I was looking to rent, all the employees were very friendly and helpful. They helped me to find just what I was looking for. I was surprised how nice the apartment was for the low price it was at! I now live in a house and Invesco helped me save up enough money to do that! I just moved into a house after staying in my INVESCO apartment for about 5 years. When i was first looking to rent, I came across INVESCO's number and the friendly workers all helped me to find exactly what I was looking for! The apartment was very nice for a cheap price! I only had about 3 maintenance problems the whole time I lived there and when I called INVESCO about it, they sent a man out right away. Whether I called the office and asked questions, or went to the office, all the INVESCO emplyees were very friendly and helpful!! I want to thank INVESCO for giving me a great experience in renting an apartment and helping me save enough money to buy a house!! read more

We have been living in INVESCO apt for not more than a year but just by a little time I could say that it is wonderful starting point living in one of their apartments. The place is big but it is really affordable. Also the things I love in this place are that it is accessible to many other places like my work, malls, church. and of course all apt got its problem but when you tell it to the management they surely act fast on it and lastly the INVESCO people are so nice to you. read more
