Would not recommend staying at InTown Suites if they are anything like the one in Richmond, VA. There advertisement states "Fully Furnished Efficiencies, Complete Kitchens, Free High-speed Internet, Premium TV Lineup, Guest Laundry Facility, Weekly Housekeeping, Included Utilities, Low Weekly Rates, No Lease Required, Free Local Calls."
I am not quite sure what they consider fully furnished. There are no clothes hangers on the closet shelf so be sure to take some along. You only get 1 towel, 1 washcloth, 1 small bar of soap and 1 roll of toilet paper for your entire stay in the bathroom. It doesn't state this anywhere on the website. Yes they come in and do "Weekly Housekeeping". All that entails is vacuuming and changing the sheets on the bed. I still don't understand why they can wash the bed sheets and not wash towels and washcloths. The office told me that the towels and toilet paper was paid for in the rate so they were mine to take home. I stayed for 12 days and I had to go out and buy towels, soap, clothes hangers and toilet paper. The office explained that they only way for me to get clean towels, washcloth and soap was to completely check out of your room and check back into another room.
The "Complete Kitchens" come without any utensils. I was lucky enough to have called ahead and checked to see if they had a VCR or DVD player in the rooms. They didn't have either but at that time the stated that they have a microwave (small size), stove (2 burners on a timer), refrigerator (small apt. size) in the kitchen. You don't know it but you only have about 14" of counter space in the kitchen. There are not pots, pans, cooking utensils, silverware, plates or glassware in the cabinets.
"Premium TV Lineup" was HBO. All other channels were what one would expect on basic TV coverage. The "Free High-speed Internet" was working quite well. It is not setup for outgoing mail unless you use a web based mail service. I was able to work around it and used OE Express Outlook for my outgoing mail.
I didn't use the "Guest Laundry" but it appeared to be clean, The "Low Weekly Rates" posted on the website are higher than the sign in front of the building. When I ask about that they changed my rate to reflect the sign charge but stated that the rate on the sign was for the 3rd floor rooms.
You may ask why I stayed for 12 days after all that is stated above. I didn't really want to search for another place while staying in a hotel/motel room. I went by there website and was signed in for 1 week. You can rent your room on a daily basis only after you have stayed for 1 week. Since I was locked in for the week I just dealt with the issues. If you are a work crew and need 2 beds per room then this is not the place to stay. They only have 1 full bed per room as best I could tell. Overall the place is clean but the noise level from the hallways and other rooms was quite annoying.
A very deceiving website for InTown Suites. If you choose to stay then I would recommend calling ahead or packing a lot of extra supplies. If you plan on eating all of your meals out then this is worth the money. Until all said and done I paid a little less to stay here versus a "completely furnished with amenities" extended stay room elsewhere.
I would give InTown Suites 1 star out of 5 stars. read more
