History
Established in 2021.
For years I worked in the traditional funeral model. But when COVID arrived, something became very clear. Families were suddenly separated from the people they loved. The way we were set up to help families wasn’t always the way families actually needed help. The funeral process was make people come to a building to make decisions while they were overwhelmed and exhausted.
It made me realize that what families often need most isn’t another place to go — it’s someone willing to come to them. That realization is what led to Into Our Kare.
Instead of asking families to leave the spaces that feel familiar during one of the hardest days of their lives, we bring the guidance, care, and planning directly to them.
Homes. Churches. Backyards. Anywhere the memories already live.
Because when people are in a place that feels like their own, something shifts, and the goodbye becomes something that helps them begin to heal.
That’s the space Into Our Kare was built to serve.
Meet the Business Owner: Clay B.
Clay Bruggeman is a licensed funeral director and embalmer and the founder of Into Our Kare. His path into funeral service began with service in the United States Army, where he worked in mortuary affairs, gaining early experience caring for the fallen and supporting grieving families with dignity and respect.
After returning to civilian life, Clay continued his career in funeral service, spending years working in and managing traditional funeral homes. During that time, he developed a deep respect for the profession and the families it serves, while also seeing opportunities for funeral care to become more personal and accessible.
Those experiences eventually inspired him to create Into Our Kare, a mobile funeral service designed to bring compassionate, professional care directly to families in the places where they feel most comfortable.
Today, Clay serves families across North Carolina with a focus on dignity, compassion, and meaningful remembrance.
