Although it was a bit of a back and forth communication match to get approved through my personal insurance and get my imaging orders verified from my neurosurgeon, I was finally able to set an appointment with IHC's Radiology department. When I arrived the day of my appointment there were 3 women at the front desk. No one greeted me. I had to greet them first and say good morning. Not one of them answered me back. I said I had an appointment as I approached the two women to my left and the woman sitting down turned and asked the young lady on the other computer if she could take care of me. I was given paperwork to fill out and taken back to change and await imaging. The one saving grace of my experience was the radiology tech. He is the reason I wanted to write this review. He made me laugh from the moment he came to pick me up for imaging. He asked questions to ensure he understood my chart and answered my own questions. He made me feel comfortable immediately. He made sure he talked with me throughout my MRI so that I knew what was being done and what we had left to do. Which is the first time any tech has done so for me. It seemed to make my scan go faster when he updated me like that. I'm usually just sitting in there with my earplugs in or music playing the whole time. His name was John and he was from Memphis. He had some amazing tattoos on his arms and he just moved to Salt Lake a few months ago. John, I appreciate you! Thank you, for being you.

No pictures were taken for patient privacy…read more I want to give a HUGE THANKS to the surgical staff at Intermountain Healthcare Surgical Center (Murray, UT). Each member took great care of me during my 4.5 hour surgery and post op. These are the individuals I remember by name (non-physician), but there were so many others involved that did an amazing job... Annie - Pre op nurse Liz - OR nurse Sam - post op nurse Abbie? - removed my IV As we all know, nurses play a HUGE role with patient comfort and recovery and these individuals went above and beyond. They made me feel at home even in a hospital setting. I drank them out of grape juice, but Sam was so awesome that she sent me home with the remainder of the carton. Little things like this are memorable in a good way and leave a good impression. This facility is very clean and all employees are very cautious about the spread of germs, especially during COVID. I felt safe and comfortable here. There's absolutely nothing I would have them improve on. If I ever needed (hopeful never) to have a surgery again in the area, I would choose this facility. Thanks so much to all the doctors and nurses involved in my surgery and to the others working behind the scenes.

Overwhelmed and impressed with how detail oriented and methodical Dr Hurst is. He doesn't miss a beat on anything. Other doctors don't spend enough time to find the root cause for ailments and just want large numbers of patients. Dr Hurst is the opposite, he doesn't rush and is very prompt and direct when he spends time with you. So glad I found him and highly recommend others to him, I never knew what a 'Physiatrist' was until I looked it up is a medical doctor who has completed training in the medical specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R).

He didn't answer any of my questions or even acknowledge my comments about previous injuries to my lower back. He asked me if I had drop foot, I said no, and spent 3 minutes testing me for drop foot and then said "you don't have drop foot." Thats really where his examination ended. He didn't recommend any back stretches or ways to strengthen my back. He left for a few minutes to find his "Back model" well, not having a back model in every exam room would be like not having a cash register at every checkout line at Walmart isn't it? I could understand if I went to an ENT and they didn't have a model of the spine in the exam room. I made the decision to have an MRI and xray. Some offices you can fill out the paperwork on line in advance. Not here. It took me 20 minutes to rewrite my name and DOB 4 different times on similar looking forms that the PA didn't even look at when he met with me. Office staff "faxed" seriously, "faxed" (I haven't used a fax in my office for 6 years) my "form" to the imaging center, after a week I didn't hear so i called and they "Re" faxed it. Called the imaging center and said they never got it last week. So another week goes by in pain. Maybe 4 staff members behind that little desk is too many. Ugh, I don't want to go back there to see the results. Any idea who I can go to?

I don't think I could have had better care elsewhere and am very pleased with the personal and genuine level of service I (as well as my baby and family) received from these wonderful women; I couldn't recommend them enough! Throughout my pregnancy, I met and and saw all of the nurse midwives, there were some I liked more than others, although they were all great. Jen was by far, my favorite and she also was the one who delivered my son. This is my 2nd child and with my eldest, I received care from an OB/GYN, and the entire experience was vastly different, I would never recommend an OB/GYN unless it was necessary for prenatal care after having experienced both. I felt very empowered for the entire process and delivery, something that was lacking with my first delivery. There was a great flow of communication, several talks of my desired birth plan and options in advance, and all my questions and issues were dealt with quickly and appropriately. The midwives were all very thorough, knowledgeable, professional, friendly and personable, as was all the staff at their office. I never had any issues, the rooms and office were always clean. Every time I called with questions or had concerns, they were fast to respond and provided me with accurate and helpful information. I called after hours a few times and dealt with the midwife on call and always felt it was handled fantastically. After I had my son, they were still very hands on with checking in on me while at the hospital. After we were discharged, I still received follow ups to ensure things were going well. At my 6 week follow up, they continued to provide exceptional service and again, always amaze me. I would recommend booking appointments right when they open or when they come back from lunch (1:30 I believe), then you are more likely to get in and out, quickly.

They quoted us about 5k for two days or less. Remember your wife and newborn will be getting separate bills. If your having a boy, circumcism is usually done outside of the hospital. You will also have your obyn fee and epidural are separate fees. Epidural is likely 1-3k depending on length for routine vaginal delivery. Your insurance coverage will determine how much you pay. Our ob told us to go to labor when water broke, but apparently you do not need to go until contractions reach a certain point. if you have pre register, you go in, they ask your wife to weigh and ask her to answer some written questions about whether or not her husband is beating her. They ask this to all women because apparently women are unable to speak for or help themselves without their intervention. Accusing one's husband of abuse prior to birth always improves everyone's spirits prior to treatment. Once admitted they take you to your labor room. Its a private room and a labor nurse will introduce herself and get you situated. Your wife will lay in a bed. There is a chair or couch area the support person can sit. The nurses change at 7am and 7pm. A lot of your experience will depend on your assigned nurse. Nurses seemed competent but they are not Dr.s. Unless you have complication, will likely briefly see dr until baby's head is crowning. Once born, they clean up your baby, let you have an hour with the baby if you choose and offer to inject them with vitamin k and apply antibiotic eye drops. VitaminK was not the pzfizer one, so its was supposed to be preservative free. Your 48 hour insurance stay begins minute baby is born. After about an hour and a half, they take you upstairs in a wheelchair to maternity. Similar type of room. Its a private room with bed, bathroom, shower and Tv. There is also a couch, rocking chair and normal chair. Imc has some free guest wifi service. Maternity nurse introduces policies and procedures and asks for your pronouns. They leave a sandwich for your wife if baby born when cafeteria is closed. You are able to order meals from a room service menu from I think 6am to 7pm during your stay. Husband or support person gets one meal during stay as part of your room costs. Nurses change at 7am like labor. In our experience some great nurses and some terrible ones. They start testing your baby for all kind of things and monitor your wife's vital signs during your stay. They also seek to inject your baby with hep b shot soon after arrival in maternity. Its good to have a birth plan for both labor and maternity. In the morning, someone from your ob's office will check on you and your pediatricians. If you do not have staff pediatric will check on your child. We watched when baby was taken out of room, once we saw a nurse with a syringe injecting something into our child's mouth. We questioned our room nurse and she told us it was sugar water to calm the baby. This was done without our consent. So be aware when you do not have child in room with you. They have lots of questions they ask your wife. My wife was tired and exhausted and chose to opt out of some questions. The nurse called in social services to interrogate my wife because she opted out. It's important for everyone to understand they are creating a database about you and you do not have to answer any of their questions. They are not your friends. Basically anything you say may be used against you in the future. I am not sure why any woman would answer questions on postpartum depression. Best to seek treatment yourself without state intervention. They asked my wife if she was suicidal? If she wanted to sign up for food stamps. Perhaps, their own racism as my wife is not white. My wife has a professional job and would never qualify for food stamps. Also, the obligatory does your husband beat you and are you endangered questions. For some reason, they seem to think these types of questions are good to ask their patients. They were highly offensive to us. We should push back. I am not sure where else you pay 10-20k for services to be treated this way. Imagine if you were buying a car and they asked you this type of stuff. If you wanna know extra costs or their procedures on billing during your stay, they will say call your insurance. If on a weekend, you will have to wait to get any potential answers. Apparently, if you leave in middle of night you are good to be discharged but if in the morning you will have to wait for ped and ob to show up. Lactation specialist was wonderful. We had about 5 nurses. 2 were great 2 horrible and one bad. Nursing care will determine whether your experience is positive or negative at imc.

My labor experience wasn't the greatest, but the staff made it all so much better. They gave me a wonderful experience that I can share with my friends and family for a life time. I came into the hospital at 6am on June, 22nd. Cynthia Labor and Delivery was our first nurse. She was so kind and amazing! When my labor started she was right next to me to make sure I was comfortable. Dr. Rose was the anesthesiologist who gave me the epidural. I was told by many friends and family how the epidural is so painful. Dr. Rose, came into my room and had me laughing before she started and after she was all done. She was making jokes and singing well giving me the epidural. I can say the whole time I never felt any pain. She was so amazing! my husband and I quote the little things she said. I brag to people how amazing she was. I'm truly so thankful for the fun memories she gave me. not many people can say that about their epidural. Our next amazing nursery was Kanzy. After many hours of labor we found out I needed a C-Section. I was so upset and worried when I found out. I cried, because I didn't want a C-section, but I was willing to do whatever it took to make sure my baby was going to come into this world healthy. While I was crying my Nurse Kanzy, looked at me and told me she was going to be with me the whole time in the OR. I was so thankful for those kind words. After she had said that I felt so much better. I knew not only was I in good hands, but so was my baby. Kanzy was so patient and kind with me. She truly has an amazing heart. While I was in the OR I had another anesthesiologist who helped take care of me. I feel horrible because I can't remember his name. I wish I wrote it down. However, I remember him being so kind while I was scared out of my mind. I had horrible shakes in my arms and he was trying to calm me and told me the shakes are totally normal to have. I was very thankful to have such a caring person looking after me. Our next nurse was Jenny in Mom/baby until. I just have no worlds for how amazing she was. We where lucky enough to have her take care of us two night in a row. She was sweet and loving toward us and we just loved her. Our next nurse was Raelynn. Raelynn was and is such a sweetheart! I felt so bad for her! we where such a needy family and she always came into our room with a smile and was so happy to help us. She took care of us three days in a row. My husband, baby, and I felt so lucky to have her take care of us for three days! When she helped me to the car I so badly wanted to give her a hug. I was in a lot of pain and needed to sit down right away. So, I didn't get a chance to hug and thank her for taking care of us. I wish I could have given her the biggest hug! The last nurse to take care of us was Tabatha. She was so cute and funny! she kept us laughing for sure! She took care of us on our last night in the hospital. I was so thankful for her little jokes. She kept me smiling while our baby was keeping us up at night. Cynthia, Kanzy, Jenny, Raelynn, and Tabatha, Are such amazing, care, wonderful, sweet people! I truly don't know how I got so lucky. I'm sure all the staff at Intermountain Hospital are all amazing, but I for sure got the best staff. When we were driving away from the hospital, I cried for many reasons. I cried because we were moving onto the next chapter of our lives and I couldn't be happier. I also cried because I was so thankful for the Nurse's and Doctors I had to take care of us. I was truly going to miss seeing them all. I tell everyone how amazing the staff is and how anyone and everone would be so lucky to be at this hospital! I had surgery on March 13 and May 8th of 2026. I could not believe how nasty and dirty the bathroom…read morefloors were even months later for the second surgery. The whole process was very unorganized but the staff were nice. This hospital use to be top tier and very clean. My wait time in a room was like 4 hrs with nobody saying what the hold was after 2.5 hours of sitting there in the prep room. Please take this serious and is concerning because patients are having procedures there and should be sanitized and organized.
