I went to McKay Dee Hospital for help with my chronic back pain. It was determined that I needed a spine fusion. After my fusion was done. I was in the hospital for 4 days to recover. The next day after my surgery. The physical therapist assigned to me. Came in to get me up and try walking. Using a walker, I got a little ways down the hall. When we both heard a loud crack coming from my back. After x-rays everything supposedly was fine but a few weeks after I was released. The sharp, burning pain in my back. Kept getting worse. Several complaints later. The doctor determined my nerves were being pinched, and I need an additional laminectomy (making the space for my nerves bigger). So 2 months after the 1st surgery. I had a 2nd that found the bone that was supporting one of the screws placed during my 1st surgery. Was broken and had to be removed and replaced by a larger fusion. This caused me to miss 8 months of work and over a year of severe pain and suffering. But the hospital sent me a bill for my portion of both procedures which amounted to about 2% of the total bill that was paid by my insurance. After trying to reason with them about paying this after more than a year of physical and financial hardship. They insisted that I pay this regardless of the hardship I have had to endure. The treatment I received from hospital administration was horrific. Shame on McKay Dee! I wouldn't recommend their services to my enemies! In my opinion they are very cold and heartless and instead of acknowledging things didn't turn out right. They would prefer to Keep rubbing salt in the wound and refuse to accept any responsibility when things go wrong. SHAME!!!! read more
