We stayed here for a night while in Bergen and there are some pros and cons with the location. Our…read morechoices were pretty limited being between Christmas and New Years but this choice did work. Pros: Great location close to the train station and everything else. Affordable. Clean. Mostly. After hours check in was easy. Free wifi that works. Cons: Even for a family room you'll pay to rent towels and sheets. Sheets were clean but we had to lay them in odd ways to cover the bed since the sizes didn't match up. Comforters that we put into the duvets weren't very clean. Lots of hair on them and yellow stains. The room was HOT. Sooooo hot. Opening the windows helped some. One elevator that is iffy, no stairs as an option. The room was tiny. It was for three but when we pulled the single bed open it was partially under the desk and you couldn't walk between the beds after that. The only place to put your bag was in the few steps of space between the bathroom door and the foot of the bed. For three people with 3 backpacks that's tough. Bag storage is free but was only available until 5:30. Yes, I had more pros than cons on this location but it was still a good choice for our stay. Just know what you're getting into. :-)

-Great prices! -Great location near train station/bus…read morestation/downtown! -Clean and organized! -Great kitchen and common areas! -Free wifi, free locker (with key) in room, free luggage storage (code changes daily)! -Good and clean shower and bathrooms! (My 10 bed room was a spacious suite with its own amazing bathroom and shower, however my 6 and 4 bed rooms did not have so much space or commodities.) -Amazing and quick communication from staff via email pre-arrival and in-person. -Offer to purchase breakfast buffet at a local hotel for ~130NOK (DO IT!-The buffet is amazing and soooo worth it considering the price of meals in Norway!) -Other guests seemed to be very courteous and mindful of shared space, lots of varied age groups, not just very young travelers. -No alcohol allowed on premises (with small exception in private room) so if this matters to you, be aware. I was so impressed with the facility, staff, and I felt like I got my money's worth and then some!

4.5 Stars...the rooms could use a fresh coat of paint!…read more Price: Awesome! Approximately $150/night, which is reasonable for the location and Norway. Location: Awesome! The Airport Bus will drop you off at Tourist Information/Fish Market, which is basically basically right in front of the hotel, and right in the middle of Bergen. All the boats nearby whether you're going on boat tour or taking the Norled ferry. Cleanliness: our room was definitely older and could use some new paint, but the rest of the common areas were great. Staff: I didn't talk to them much, but seemed nice enough. Room: Good enough for the price. Quite large with a big lcd tv. Fresh coat of paint needed, but everything was clean enough. BREAKFAST: EPIC! Smoked Salmon, Baked Salmon, Herring, Crab Salad, Waffles, sausages, eggs, fresh breads, fruits, cheeses...deliciousness! You could eat enough that you only need a snack for lunch.Better than some buffets in Las Vegas. Once I even sneakily made myself a salmon sandwich to go...ssshhh! ;) There is also coffee and tea available all day long, which is godsend in a country where coffee and tea can easily run you $3-5/cup. The hotel is so well located that it was easy to stop in for a 20min coffee break between sight seeing. A fresh coat paint would make this a 5 Star! (Note: At time of this review, the US dollar was up 50% against the Norway kroner...$1 = 7.5kr vs $1 = 5kr just a couple years ago)

Nice hotel, warm room…read more The hotel is located very close to the train station and is near the tourist hot spots of Downtown Central Bergen. The front desk staff were very nice. They showed me exactly to my room. They answered all of my questions. They even helped me read my train ticket that I was confused about. The breakfast buffet is pretty good. Standard Norwegian breakfast. The dining area is nice. The front desk staff upgraded our room for free. We had a room offsite of the hotel in the villas. The villa room is quite nice. It is very clean. The bathroom is small but had a heated floor which made it nice. I downgraded the review because there's no air conditioning. I guess this is standard for Norway due to the weather, but I was sweating pretty bad and did not sleep well because I was just too hot.

They offer a free breakfast, but I slept through it. They make their own honey, you can see the hives on the 7th floor. Didn't see any ghosts. The hallways and lobby areas look like some aspects from Harry Potter. Bathrooms are the whole tiled shower-sink-toilet rooms. Liquid hand soap by sink and a shampoo-body wash in the shower. Friendly staff. Good location. Mornings can be a little noisy with working morning noises from the street and station.

This hotel was pretty accomodating. Location was awesome. Stayed there in Sep 2011…read more The bad: There were two separate buildings, one accross the other and only one reception. There was no AC, but in their defense, none ever needs AC in Norway The chain outside the door was pretty intimidating (in their defense, I believe they were undergoing renovations) Their bar downstairs closed early and it was not really a neat place The building I stayed did not have an elevator (not that it really needed it because there weren't many floors in the building) The good: The price: the price was really cheap for Norwegian standards The Service: everyone was really helpful and their English was impeccable Location: right in downtown, close to everything Neatness: the bathrooms were recently renovated and everything was really clean The beds : they were clean, puffy, and comfortable. The manager, very handsome Norwegian guy. Too bad I did not get his number!

I stayed in early September (off peak season) and price for a private 2 bed was nearly the same as a hostel -Room was comfortable, bed was fine, I expected only 1 pillow so no biggy -Bathroom was small, but suitable -I personally enjoyed being right above a few great bars. The hotel was easy to find from the bus stop, easy to get to train station, and I was feet away from a beer! -Front staff was polite and helpful -Was very loud with windows open which we needed for cooler air
