It looked sloppy, and I wasn't happy with the quality of the work, so I left an honest negative review. The company responded and said they would come back to fix it. Instead of properly correcting the workmanship, they simply cut off the overhanging shingles. We later discovered that the cut pieces, along with other roofing debris, had been left inside our ventilation system, causing additional damage, cleanup, and expenses that we had to deal with ourselves. To make matters worse, we found hundreds of roofing nails scattered throughout our driveway, yard, gardens, and around our home after the job was completed. This created a serious safety hazard for our family, our pets, and our vehicle tires. A professional roofing company should take the time to thoroughly clean up after a job. The roof still looks poorly finished, and what should have been a straightforward repair ended up creating even bigger problems. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. We paid a significant amount of money expecting quality workmanship and professionalism, but instead we were left with a poorly finished roof, debris in our ventilation system, hundreds of nails around our property, and additional costs to fix problems that never should have happened. Their work was incredible, their price was fair, and communication was fast and seamless - it was one week from first inquiry to completion of the job. I called him on recommendation from the previous home owners, and he was very prompt in getting back to me. He had a great memory for the house and current state of the roof (which he hadn't done the original work on). He was happy for me to come up onto the roof with him, and thoroughly walked me through what was going on up there. He found the source of the leak confidently and efficiently, and was very honest about all the options, ranging from a short-term to semi-permanent solution, and the pros and cons of each. I felt he genuinely wanted to do the job right, and in as affordable way as possible for me. Since he fixed that area, I've had no further issues with water leakage in that spot. He was very upfront though that I had other potential problem areas on my roof, however, and sure enough a couple months later a leak in another area developed. This time the weather was a bit better so we went ahead with some additional proactive repairs as well as the source of the current problem. Again he talked me through options, and I felt he was upfront, honest and had good integrity. I hope to not need Frank again in the near future, but I certainly would call him again if I do!

Adam and his team understood the entire scope of the work. I was provided with a detailed schedule, timelines, and estimate before commencing the project. There was an issue with a city tree on my neighbour's property that had to be dealt with. Other contractors vanished at this point in the project. Adam guided me on what steps I had to take and the necessary paperwork I needed to file with the city over the course of seven months. When the project was finally approved, the trades workers were on time, highly skilled, professional and efficient. Adam was there at the beginning and end of every part of the construction. I greatly appreciated the regular communications I received. He even made sure my neighbours were satisfied with how the construction was effecting them. We have been using Wei, the owner of CRR Roof & Reno for almost 15 years now…read more We've tried other contractors in the past, but found ourselves keep going back to Wei in the end. 1) Wei is multi-disciplinary. While most contractors only specialize in his/her own trade, Wei excels at almost every trade you can think of in renovation and homebuilding. From roofing to framing to drywall, from plumbing to electrical to HVAC, there just isn't a job Wei is not good at. Even if he doesn't do the work himself, he will point you in the right direction. For example: - When we hired Wei to fix a pipe leak in our basement above the hot water tank, he not only fixed the leak and repaired the drywall, but also capped some exposed electrical wiring found inside the drywall. While there he also looked around and pointed out issues with our basement sewer cleanout and floor drain, which he fixed on the next visit. - When we hired Wei to replace our windows and patio door, he also repaired the rotten window frame, fixed the lintel, caulked the flashing, and patched exterior brick mortars around the window. For both jobs, had we not used Wei we would end up spending a lot more time and money dealing with multiple contractors. 2) Wei is always straightforward and honest with his quotes. He stands by his quotes and doesn't compromise on quality. Other contractors may bid low or sugar-coat the problems just to get your business, and then change the scope of work and add on additional costs later, not Wei. From the start, he would point out the exact problems and the scope of work including what-if scenarios. He would offer several solutions for different budgets, but clearly explain the pros, cons, risks, and long term impact of each solution. Once quotes are accepted he sticks with them, even if the actual cost ends up being above his quote, he sticks with the original quote and doesn't compromise on the quality. If the actual costs end up being less, other contractors would just eat the difference, Wei would actually go the extra mile to expand the scope, upgrade the work, or reduce his original quote. Regardless of the homeowner's knowledge level, or whether the homeowner is onsite or not, Wei's work is consistent and high quality. It's very rare that he had to return a second time to fix his previous work. 3) Wei is local to downtown Toronto and is very knowledgeable and experienced with older houses in downtown Toronto, an expertise that's not easy to find among contractors from other areas of GTA. We recommend him especially for jobs on older houses in Annex, Little Italy, Chinatown, Seaton Village, Harbord Village, etc. In conclusion, having Wei is like having a trusted general contractor, a trusted home inspector, and multiple trusted sub-contractors, all at the same time! If there is any complaint, it would be that we'd wish he's not that busy so we can book him when we wanted - but on the other hand, it speaks of his popularity among his clients, most of them are long term clients that have stuck with him for many years.
