I had quality classes and great professors. I learned so much about the field I work in now. The university has so many amenities. Nap pods, computer lab access, gym access, library access, and so much more. There was also a lot of opportunities to get involved with organizations, clubs, etc. being involved enhanced my undergraduate experience. Parking was terrible and passes were pricey.

They don't go every Thursday evening; just depends what's showing and what else everyone has going on. We checked it out and saw "Inside Out 2" with them several weeks ago. That led to us learning where to park, what to bring, and where to find the lawn in front of the library building where the movies are screened. It's a great family event. Several food trucks come for the event. (I'm told the prices are high!) You can bring your own food. The price of admission is just right - free! If you can luck out to find street parking, that's free, too. The walk is long, though. We park in Lot 33, which is closer to the lawn area than street parking. Four hours in the lot is about $8, which isn't too bad. The parking app / kiosk is painful, though. I especially struggled with it last night. The WiFi inside the parking structure is almost non-existent, so using the texting feature can be challenging. Last night it was "Toy Story 4". The graphics and sound volume were much better than for Inside Out. However, about half way through the movie something happened to the video playback and only audio kept playing. The organizers' spot isn't easily identifiable, so it took a few minutes before the situation got fixed. Then one of the side lawns had the sprinklers start to go off before the film was finished, so everyone over there was scrambling to pick up their stuff and get out of the way of the sudden showers. Someone came on the intercom at the end of the movie and thanked everyone for coming and apologized for those two little glitches. The organizers create a nice event feeling for the participants. Overall, it was still a pleasant evening spent with the younger generations.

This parcel is far more than vacant land--it is part of the historic birthplace of Granada Hills. The remaining historic structures have been allowed to deteriorate over the years, and it is heartbreaking to watch such an important piece of our community's history continue to decline. This is also not the first time this property has been at the center of controversial development proposals. For decades, the community has raised concerns about projects that would intensify use of this site despite its location in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone and the surrounding evacuation challenges. Many residents believe these concerns deserve far more consideration than they have received. As a neighbor, I have found Heritage Christian School to be largely unresponsive to the community's longstanding concerns about the property's condition and future. Instead of working with residents to preserve this historic site and find a solution that benefits Granada Hills, the property continues to be marketed for increasingly intensive development. This land represents an important chapter in our community's history. It deserves thoughtful stewardship, preservation where possible, and a future that respects both public safety and the heritage of Granada Hills--not another proposal that divides the community. I hope Heritage Christian School reconsiders its approach and becomes a better partner to the neighborhood it has been part of for so many years.

If you do happen to go, and your child is assigned to Ms. Thomas' class, run! She was my daughter's kindergarten teacher and she was absolutely horrible. Simply put, she should not educate children. She was lazy, and unapproachable. My children attended this school for 2 years, it is not worth the money and the retired principal Mrs. Jones AKA Lucifer Jones was worst than Ms. Thomas! I believe in providing feedback both positive and constructive, but it has been weighing on my heart to share my experiences with this school as a mom of 2 black children. I am so grateful to have found an awesome private school because I now know what's it's like to pay for mistreatment which is exactly how I felt at "HATEARAGE" Christian School!

Each of their experiences has been different, but one thing has stayed consistent: their confidence has grown and they've learned how to advocate for themselves. I remember when my oldest started as a freshman. He was nervous and trying to figure out where he fit in. He's part of the LGBTQ community, and as a mom you hope your child will be accepted for who they are. At VAAS, he was. The diversity here is real, and you can feel it every day. He joined the dance team, got involved in theater, and eventually became president of several clubs. Watching him grow into a confident leader showed me how much this school was helping him develop as a person, not just as a student. My other two children were excited to attend after seeing his experience, and I've watched the same kind of growth happen with them. They all have different personalities and interests, but they've each learned to speak up for themselves and take ownership of their future. As a parent, that means everything. What makes VAAS special is the smaller environment and the relationships with teachers and staff. Students are known by name, and the teachers genuinely care. I've had teachers reach out not just about concerns, but to share progress and ideas for growth. It shows they're truly invested. Both of my children who graduated from VAAS have now graduated from college, one from UC Irvine and the other from the University of Hawaii, and my youngest has already been accepted into college. That tells me VAAS really prepared them for what came next. One of my favorite experiences as a parent has been Digital Portfolio Night, where students present their own work and reflect on their growth. Seeing that confidence firsthand is something special. VAAS is more than just a school. It's a supportive community that prepares students for life after high school, and I would absolutely recommend it to other families.

There are also many opportunities for fun events to meet other parents. I really can't say enough good things about this daycare.
