If you value your sleep, however, avoid this place during "carnaval" (albeit witching stumbling or crawling distance) since the whole town will be partying around you.

Of course the rooms were clean well appointed, etc. But this hotel is so much more. If in Roosendaal I strongly suggest you give it a try. On the town square surrounded by eateries and conveniences plus the requisite church with bell tower. And the lobby houses a wonderful old world bar with an excellent local Dutch Pilsner on tap.

Unacceptable!!! No one warned us of this or we would not have stayed here- which is exactly why we weren't warned. Greedy, bad business practice! False advertising! Close to renovate and don't rip me off. The front desk told me - sorry, they aren't supposed to start work until 8:30am. That's BS. First, they started earlier and Second, If I rent a room at full (high season) price, then I should be able to sleep and have peace 24hrs. OK now the "normal review - Good stuff: decent, newly renovated. Obviously. Located right near the water with beautiful views, but nothing else close by to walk to. Staff is very nice. Great, full, free breakfast. Bad stuff: BEWARE the shower- the tile in the shower is VERY DANGEROUSLY slippery!!! What were they thinking? This is an accident waiting to happen! Need another shelf in shower for my shampoo. Also, they installed tissues in the bathroom instead of rolled toilet paper. Terrible choice. They are very difficult to clean with! Yuck! UPDATE: We were able to change rooms away from the construction. Yay!

Check in was not until 3p and after I told the receptionist I had just flown in from the USA, she immediately arranged for the room to be prepared and within 30 minutes I was in bed. What an awesome, cozy hotel room located in the center of the city. I stayed in the Dream suite, but each is different with varied themes. The owner (Nadja) arrived late afternoon and served a homemade Gin & Tonic from the hotel bar (also quite cozy). The most amazing G&T ever made with specialty local Gin and tonic water and a story to cap off the experience. She offers G&T mixology classes there as well. Not sure if Hotel Bliss is five star rated with Trip Advisor, but the service and experience is a 10 in my book! Worth a trip to Holland and the city of Breda for the "Bliss"!

We started with a chicken Caesar salad followed by an entrecôte with black peppercorn sauce and rosti potatoes served in a separate "Le Creuset" skillet. The Caesar salad impressed with its presentation and delighted in taste, a small deviation from the classical Caesar salad but surprising in its flavours. The entrecôte with black peppercorn sauce was grilled to perfection, simply delicious ! "U" - as this restaurant is simply called - is a reflection of the Flemish polite form for "You" which is how someone is addressed when being polite. It is also a reference to something of high standard, meaning it should be addressed accordingly, hence the name "U" for this high class restaurant. More than class, it simply serves excellent food and wine. This establishment will soon be at the top of every respectable restaurant review list. Try it out before reservations are only available in the distant future and waiting lists are the norm of the day.
