However, we'd wouldn't mind paying more for really good work...so we checked the reviews on Yelp and contacted Aragonz Cleaning. Emely replied and visited the next day to assess the situation. My wife and Emely spent about 20 minutes walking through our place and had a friendly chat about various items. I thought Emely was very personable and she promised to send us an estimated cost for a monthly cleaning the next day. A few things to note. We live in the Trilogy development in Nipomo...our house is 2 bedrooms and 2 baths with 1,910 square feet, but the area to be cleaned is closer to 1,750...and people tell us we keep the property almost spotless. Emely's estimate was $750 for each visit. While I'm sure she'd do a very good job, that number seems to include what's called a "Trilogy premium". All of our previous cleaners were 2 person teams who spent 2-3 hours and charged $150-200. Regarding our rating - Emely and her crew might do a 5 star job, but her $750 request for a small tidy home was way off the mark. So 3 stars seems to be most reasonable.

Skye was very agreeable and assured me of her thoroughness. Her quote was very reasonable and I hired her on the spot. My goal, I explained, was to make sure my mom didn't have to clean her house when she moved in. The kitchen and bathrooms needed a thorough cleaning and there were black marks in the laundry room that Skye said she could get out. She indicated she does not do windows, but agreed to do the window tracks and shutters. She pointed out several areas of need (such as the fireplace) that I hadn't even noticed and assured me she'd clean those as well. As we were moving my parents into their new home, I walked into the house and was shocked to find my mom on her hands and knees, scrubbing the black marks off the laundry room floor. She showed me many other areas of the house that were not clean: the oven, the microwave, the kitchen cupboards. The window tracks and shutters/blinds were still filled with dirt and dead bugs. The fireplace she volunteered to do still had cobwebs on the logs and wine spots on the tile. When I called Skye to talk about what I found, she came over to look at our areas of concern. She agreed that those areas should have been cleaned and promised to return the next day to clean them. When she did, she stayed for only an hour and left the house still needing much work. Needless to say, my mom and I continued to clean the house as we moved her. Skye said she was overworked and needed a vacation. I have no doubt this is true. She called me about an hour and a half later and said she was going to be late because she went to another potential client's home only to be told by the woman that she had called Skye to cancel. Skye told me she thought I was the potential client who cancelled. She asked if she could come over and I said we were already on our way home. So it seems Queen for a day lost two potential clients yesterday because she was disorganized and confused and full of excuses, inc. her saying that she badly needs a vacation. Surely there is another cleaning service in the area who would welcome our business and show up.

However, we experienced issues. Some during construction, three following completion. Two new cabinets were built, the sink and all appliances (except the dishwasher were replaced) and granite countertops and backsplash were installed. The new refrigerator K & B specified was built in. However, when the "Change filter light" came on we discovered that we had no simple way to shut off the incoming water to make the change. I contacted K & B, and their response was: "Go outside, turn the water off, open your faucets, remove and reinstall the filter, go back out and turn the household water back on." Refrigerator exist that have a water turn off at the front of the unit. All of the existing cabinet doors were removed during construction and replaced at the end of the remodel. Prior to the remodel, all the cabinet doors closed correctly. After replacement, one upper cabinet door would not close all the way. I pointed the issue out on the remodel completion. Following, I emailed and phone Gerry Luhr multiple times, and was finally able to talk with him. Gerry told me the door closure was not his problem. To "hire a handy man". He would said he would have to charge us $500 or more to adjust the door. I hired another person and that person adjusted the door so it would close as it should, within less than a half hour and at a cost of $60. The new faucet nozzle became stuck on spray and would not release to the normal stream flow. I both emailed and phoned Gerry multiple times asking where the faucet was purchase, the source name and phone number, along with the name and model of the faucet. I never received an email nor a return phone call from Kitchen & Bath Works nor Luhr Design and Construction, after several attempts to contact them.
