Turned the wheel when the car was stationary - once. My first UK driving lesson and it was a horrible experience. Rude and so critical of every move that I made. I will not be booking more lessons with them and it has really dented my confidence in driving. I know I'm not perfect, but then explain, not criticise.

I wasn't 17 and my sponge-like brain had dried up somewhat, but even so a year and a bit later bingo I did it. I recommend Coles because you get a fair old amount of extra bits and bobs for your money. I left with a folder full of test trial handouts, rhymes to help you remember and handy tips about holding washing up bowls and whatnot to get your wheel positioning right, Top tip: Don't try and scrimp and spread your lessons out - it's a false economy!

Unfortunately my partner paid the instructor by cash and didn't receive an receipt to prove he has given the money but he didn't think anything of it as the instructor seemed trust worthy. After the second 'bulk booking' not long after that the instructor started making excuses to cancel the lessons until eventually he stopped contacting my partner all together. We tried contacted him but with no success, eventually we contact streetwise to ask if they could help as we are still owed another 5 lessons and would like to continue the lessons. Streetwise didn't want to know; they merely passed on his phone number and said 'good luck!' So word of warning, if you are planning to use this company and you need any help, don't expect any! And don't 'bulk book' any lessons in cash, pay by cheque and insist you get a receipt or you will most likely get ripped off no matter how nice the instructors are.

The only thing I had going for me is that I knew how to operate a manual (most people back home don't, strangely enough). Anyway, I was referred to Ceri by my partner at the time as she taught him how to drive, and to say she dramatically reduced the trauma I associated with driving is an understatement. Like any concentrative stylist, Ceri keeps the chit chat to a minimum, allowing you to keep all of your attention on the road - God knows I needed it! I was literally trembling when I came up to my first major roundabout (Gabalfa) and after only a few short months, I passed my driving exam at the Cardiff Test Centre with only one minor. Ceri also offers a Saturday instruction and discounts if you bulk buy lessons in advance. I totally recommend her - if she can teach me to drive, she can teach anyone!

I also found 90 minutes to be a perfect lesson length. As I progressed I always looked forward to my driving lessons, as I developed really quickly and enjoyed both the conversation and all the great learning tips and advice. Peter uses visual aids to explain new manoeuvres or junctions, which I found really helpful. If you want to re-do something or ask questions, he is very patient and explains things very well. He is also excellent fun and extremely funny! Absolute pleasure to be around but also extremely an good teacher. I am especially grateful to Peter for helping me get a refund for my first test due to an issue with the test. He was on my side and kept tabs on the issue until it was resolved. Truly professional and great experience as he was looking out for me even after I passed my test. 10/10!

Having…read morea fairly decent set of chompers I wish to keep my 'Pearly Whites' fully intact, and forever smiling, as I grew up with the phrase; "your teeth are your crowning glory, dear." I also like to chew and taste every meaty morsel of my food. Being the losing side of XY (wink, wink) a liquid diet is not an option, and I wish to stave off drinking from a straw for a while longer (please). But an infected/abscess forming tooth had me literally pre-molaring to Dr Guy's surgery - thankfully, an instant, no hassle, same day appointment - no waiting, no bothersome queues...hmm...timing was on my side. His fully equipped, pristine/dust free surgery - eat off the floor...and the warmth and efficiency from everyone on board at this 'Star Ship Dental Centre' is not only reassuring, but warming as well. An in-depth symptom discussion, Xray/look-see allowed for precise analysis that was again, incredibly efficient, explaining the options/exploring the possibilities. Financial debates with oneself. Certainly an extraction for me leaving a Terry Thomas style of 'Mind The Gap' was not an option. So, with the other 'less than desirable' and 'not always on a winning horse' outcome and longevity of a possible root canal and crown option hanging out in the stalls, it was a no-brainer to head straight for the finishing post with a decision for an implant. And this was not straight from the horse's mouth. To me if you are going to pay 'so much' for something that 'may' not suit your mouth metal, your immune system is questionable, your tolerance level etc and then find that after 10 years or sadly, much less, you are back in the chair having another financial debate with yourself, therefore, why not just cut to the chase and spend that 'bit' more (okay, it's not cheap) to settle your gums for the next 20 years plus, with the knowledge that you could have a stable tooth (implant) installed for life rather than pussy footing around with a root canal and all of the palaver this entails. Penny wise, pound foolish at the end of the day never saved anyone anything - let alone agony. So, what can I say? I am extremely happy with my decision and my mouth, and needless to say my gums are smiling pretty as well.
