Warning: Insurhaus, Inc. Will Rob You Blind
I had a profoundly disappointing experience with Insurhaus, Inc. After purchasing an insurance policy for $36,765, I found a better rate elsewhere and offered Insurhaus the opportunity to match it. They declined, leaving me no choice but to cancel, as paying more for inferior coverage made no sense.
Upon cancellation, I expected a prorated refund for the unused portion of my policy. Here's the breakdown:
Total Premium Paid: $36,765
Coverage Period Used: 258 days
Unused Coverage Period: 108 days
Prorated Refund Expected: ($36,765 / 366 days) × 108 days = $10,850.62
Refund Received: $7,953
Unexplained Deduction: $2,895.70
Percentage of Expected Refund Withheld: ($2,895.70 / $10,850.62) × 100 26.7%
Despite multiple requests for an explanation, Insurhaus failed to justify this significant deduction. The policy vaguely mentions that cancellation fees "may be charged," but no specific amounts or percentages were disclosed upfront. This lack of transparency and refusal to clarify the charges is both unprofessional and raises serious concerns about their business ethics.
I am convinced that Insurhaus received the full premium refund from the insurance company and unjustly retained approximately 26.7% as an unwarranted penalty. They operate with blatant disregard for their customers, withholding funds without proper justification. They act with impunity, as if unafraid of any government regulators, engaging in what can only be described as daylight robbery.
I strongly advise potential customers to steer clear of Insurhaus, Inc. My experience suggests a pattern of unethical behavior and potential illegal activity. Protect yourself and consider alternative insurance providers who value transparency and customer trust. read more
