This is my first time obtaining insurance through a "local insurance agency." I purchased…read moreHomeowner's and Vehicle insurance. The first hiccup occurred when my credit card didn't show the money as processed and I didn't want a lapse in coverage; so, I followed up with a daily phone call for three days before I received comformation. Approximately two weeks later, I received an invoice from my car insurance requesting an additional $25.00 without an explanation. Another phone call to the agency. Apparently, my quote was a misquote. Hmm? This past May, I incurred hail damage and subsequently filed my first homeowner's claim. It ended up being a catastrophic claim and naturally I had questions. I initially spoke to Jennifer. She awesome! She explained things and answered my questions AND she took her time with me. This was why I went through a local insurance agency. I wanted to be able to educate myself and learn about my insurance rights. Jennifer actually helped me appeal and win, gaining me additional funds that I was entitle to. Nevertheless, two weeks later I had another question for Jennifer. When I called the agency, I learned she was off that day. Stephanie took my call. When I said, I would call back, she bullied me into telling her why I wanted to speak to Jennifer. I caught her up to date with my appeal. Stephanie proceeded to inform me that Jennifer was not an adjuster, that she was an agent and she would be fired for providing me with the information about NC rules. Additionally, she said, that the only thing available to me would be to open another homeowner's claim since my file had been closed. Wow! One of my questions to Jennifer was about how filing homeowner claims count against you but a catastrophic claim does not. I asked Stephanie, "why should I pay a local agency for insurance when I can go through the company for cheaper, if I'm not going to be provided with answers to my questions?" She responded; "I don't know" and hung up the phone! I emailed Jennifer the above exchanged the following day. I have yet to receive a response. I sincerely hope Jennifer was not terminated. I understand employees have bad days. I've had many myself and dealing with the pubic isn't always a good experience. However, I didn't deserve to be hung up on. I will not use this company in the future. I am unable to locate a website for Madison Insurance Agency which is odd. Hey, they can't get poor "google" reviews without one. Another hmm??
