Centerville Safe Care

There is no way I could sit and right all the good things about this daycare! There's just too…read moremany! My daughter has attended Centerville Safe Care for going on two years. Before CSC, she attended a larger, chain daycare. I work and go to school full-time, so my daughter is no stranger to long days spent with the daycare staff and other children! However, since she's been attending this daycare I don't worry about her being there too long, or being unhappy while she's there. This daycare is absolutely my daughter's second home. She loves the other kids, but most importantly, she loves the staff. Miss Bonnie, the director of Centerville Safe Care, treats these children as her own. She's interested in their lives, their hobbies, ambitions, pets, everything! These children aren't just her job, she genuinely enjoys every one of those kids, and they all know it. They all feel special there. My 9 year old will spend an hour at CSC before they drive her to her elementary school at 8AM, and she will be picked up from her school by them to spend her afternoon, until I get off work or school, as well. When the city schools are closed for a holiday like President's Day, the daycare is open. If the schools have a snow day, the day care is open. Even if I have the day off and my daughter doesn't have school, she still wants to go to daycare! There's so much for them to do. They constantly have fun experiments to do, or a field trip to go on, or games to play. The tagline for this daycare says, "Centerville Safe Care- Where childhood is a journey, not a race." Nothing could be more true. Your son or daughter will not just be a face in the crowd here. They will be loved and embraced for who they are. This daycare is such an integral part of my daughter's day-to-day life, I could not be more thankful that they have taken that opportunity to be such a positive and fulfilling experience for her. She and I will both cherish the memories, friends and mentors she has made her for the rest of her life. I have no doubt you and your child's experience will be any different.

My kids look forward every day they get to go to the center. I feel safe with my kids at Centerville Safe Care, which is important to me. There summer program is wonderful, my kids come home every day so happy and can't stop talking about what they did or Are going to do that week. They have the best prices around which is a extra bonus, but I would pay mor just to keep my kids with Ms. Bonnie.

They have a huge parking lot and the building itself is huge. This is probably the biggest Y I've been too as well. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful on where to direct me as someone new. The childcare area is very, very big and if you do between 8am-11am busy since this is when all the classes are typically offered. Even though they were busy I didn't feel like it was too much for the people working. They also have a blocked off area for small babies, which I liked since my son was only about 8-10 weeks when we went. The weight room is really large and has plenty of equipment. It's busy every time I've been there, but not over crowded. There are plenty of rooms so they offer the most diverse classes compared to the other Y's in the area. I found the gymnastic to be a bit small and the track was fine, but I think West Carrollton's is designed better because of the natural light from the windows. Like I said, the nicest and biggest Y I've been too, but I find it too crowded for me.

Staff is not very friendly. Most of what they say is "check the app"…read more A week ago when I signed up for the Y, in my packet came a weekly class list. I showed up for a class today at 1 o'clock and no one was there. When I went to the desk, they were kind of dismissive. "If nobody's there it was probably canceled. Did you check the app?" They should know their audience. A lot of people are older and don't want to work apps. And with that being said, why would you hand me a weekly class list that is not correct? I also asked the front desk three times in the week I've belonged, where a class was located. None of them said "oh it's right here or it's right there." Every one of them had to pull up the app or go to the monitor and pull up a class. Shouldn't the front desk know more about what's going on and what classes are being held and where they are in the gym? I don't know. It's kind of souring me.

Do yourself a favor and look up this location's records on the Ohio DCY website to review the complaints and infractions before considering enrollment here. This location's license has been in the ENFORCEMENT status for over a year now, which means the state intends to revoke their license to operate. During our time at the school it became clear the main priority of the director was to make himself look good to the owners (who we never met in over 3 years). Our concerns were not taken seriously enough, and after several safety concerns and inappropriate actions by the staff involving our child we immediately left this school. Constant staff turnover means children from different age groups are combined into the same rooms together and no curriculum gets taught to the kids. With so many administrators in the front office you'd think they could solve these problems. Perhaps if they took half the energy they spend on policing their social media pages to scrub any honest comments left, and put it into fixing the issues they're faced with every day, they might have a successful facility.
