We were advised to order three or four seasonal plates each, and then the service and kitchen team organized our selections into an elegant tapas tasting titillation. Service was very friendly, yet efficient and timely when necessary. Wine list was nicely put together with mostly affordable Spanish gems. Dining room is smaller than small, filled with characters, an equal mix of tourists and Spaniards alike. Don't go here for a romantic/quiet dinner! There are limited tables - this place is very popular - so, make sure you have a reservation. Not sure if they are open for lunch service - I think they serve dinner only.

The food is more a Catalan style "tapas" that is created by Sergi. What Sergi seems to strive for is emphasizing the different favors as he works his magic. When we got there, the restaurant was pretty busy but we were seated quickly. It has a nice location because it's almost on the beach and you can see the ocean when you're eating. The staff are also very friendly and even though we weren't fluent in Spanish, they explained everything to us in English. This is a tapas restaurant but it was like a buffet style. You would go up to the counter and order what tapas you wanted (finger food) and then at the end your waitress/waiter would come and tally up everything you ate and you paid the final bill. We got a wider variety of their tapas that ranged from meat to seafood and even different types of bruschetta. All of it was so fresh and tasted amazing. And the best part was that everything is priced very reasonably considering the location, quality of food, and the portions. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a bite to eat!

The restaurants that were opened were offering full meals. I just wanted a few small bites and a beer. I stumbled upon Can Tonet by accident; trying to find the Church of Sans Vincenc. The outdoor seating looked very inviting and it was a balmy sixty degree day. The menu offers traditional tapas: olives, toast with ham and cheese, calamari, traditional cheese assortments with Iberian ham, potata bravas and much more. I ordered the chicken croquettes that was accompanied by a red sauce. The croquettes were delicious; the sauce was delicious too but could have used a spicy kick. Their cocktail options were plentiful: beers (full and mini), vermouth, cava, sangria and other varietals. The zertig ( mini beer) hit the spot and was the perfect size for a midday drink. The service was friendly and accommodating. The interior of restaurant was also charming. It must be great for locals in the summer to come from the beach and linger for awhile here. The beach is about a ten minute walk. Thus, when in Tossa, dine like a local at Can Tonet.
